    Hello,

I was hoping u live nearby since we are about the same age, we are both bald and live in CA. lol. I live in Los Angeles so I guess thats far from you. After I saw your pic i had to join the forum. I am 31. I had a cute mohawk everyone loved it then i went buzz about 4 weeks now. I love it and i get so many compliments, so easy too. Now that my buzz has thinned out i should have my zara front lace wig this week. Not looking forward to that hair drama. I have had long hair so i am enjoying no hair. haha.

    Hey Ladies,

I'm Clarity and live all the way on the east coast.  I thought I join in and tell you my experience.

Singletona80-  I had the exact treatment regiment that you have.  I finished on May 11, 2010.  I also had a bilateral mastecomy  the end of June (by choice).   I am now in the middle of radiation treatments with reconstruction  starting Nov 30.   It is lot to go through but you can do it. Yes the chemo will turn your tongue, nails, palms, bottom of your feet darker.  They will return to normal after treatment.  Your nails may also get brittle and thicker.  If you have any question about side effects I will be happy to share.what I know.  I have been blessed with so many people, folks I know and didn't know that helped me.  I can only pass it on.

Domnik02- Hello to you also..Don't worry about the hair.  Rock the wig or ball caps or scarves or go bald I did.  It was very liberating.

Be Blessed and Healed  Pink Warriors!!!

Hi Sistas,  I thought I would just stop by today.  Be bold, have fun, go bald.  Now you have an excuse to do something you wouldnt dare do if it were not for the cancer.  I think it's a pity that many of us don't post on this forum, but I choose to believe that because our symptoms/side effects, etc. are non-discriminatory we participate in the others.   Check to see if there is a Sisters Network, Inc. chapter in or near your locale.  It's for us and is a tremendous group.  Hugs to you young ladies.

Just stumbled across this.  Welcome my sisters altho I'm twice your age but this disease does not discriminate based on age.  BlessedOne is correct that we "belong" all over these boards because BC also doesn't discriminate in any way at all.

Tomorrow morning I'm in a 5K walk sponsored by our local Sisters Network.  It is a wonderful group if you are looking for any kind of resource during this journey.

    Hello Ladies,

I'm 30 yrs old, recently diagnosed. I have had a lumpectomy, clear margins, no involved lymph nodes. I'm supposed to begin rads sometime next month. My Onc wants me to take hormone therapy, but I am terrified. I'm that girl that barely takes Tylenol for a headache, so my treatment decision has been VERY difficult. In addition, I want to make my 2 year old son a big brother ASAP. I'm still on the emotional roller coaster, hopefully I can feel the ground beneath me soon so I can make a solid decision.

A tip. While at the beauty supply store this weekend I saw a tutorial by DUBY. The process is simple and feels more natural than a wig. It's a solution you buy to coat your hair let it dry and then you glue track hair on top of the solution. It's like a presto WEAVE. I love it. Got it done yesterday and did it myself. Now I am mad because I spent 200.00 on a lace front wig that feels hot and odd. Please feel free to ask any questions. We are all in this together.
