you know it is so hard to forget about cancer when there are so many reminders. My bra bothers me where the 2 nodes were removed. it is getting better and I can even go most of the day without feeling this discomfort. But the random pains in the boob. Is that normal. They are sharp and I know they dont last long.. but wonder why..

Neither of these stop me from living my life but you wonder when you dont have the physical reminders.. and if the pain means something.

anyone else experience this?

Are they anywhere near where your surgery was? I know shooting pains are normal while your nerves are healing. I get them a lot too and I'm several months out of my surgery.

I had sharp pains that lasted only a few seconds from time to time starting about a week after surgery and every now and then for several months (though less frequent as time went on).  I asked my surgeon and he said what Julia says -- it is nerves healing.  In my case, they apparently moved a lot of things around (oncoplasty) to maintain my breast's original shape, so the pains came from areas not very close to the incision.  Probably nothing to worry about, but maybe worth mentioning to your MD at your next followup just for peace of mind.

Yes, I definitely remember having sharp quick "blips" of pain -- like an electric shot almost. Before I began rads., felt them, I'm guessing from the clips left behind and also the nerve recovery. Felt them again while undergoing rads.

I'm now nearly a year out, and am happy to say that until I read your post, hadn't even thought about those blips . . . isn't that a great thing, to nearly forget about such things? :)

i orginally when I heard though to chop them both off but as I researched I knew that I would have a hard time moving on with those physical reminders but it seems i can wear the bra longer than I use to and hope that one day I would forget these things. thanks that was very encouraging.. probably why I come to the baords as often as I do.

    thanks everyone
