I'm triple negative and went through neo-adjuvunct chemo.  When I had my bilateral mastectomies no cancer was found in my breast or lymph nodes.  I understand this is called PCR.

Has anyone who acheived PCR had their cancer return?

    Hello Tabatha00,

I am also interested in the answer to your question.  I had bilateral mastectomies

and lymph node dissections,  with a complete pathological response.  I just finished

rads at the end of October.  I had positive lymph nodes before chemo on both sides.

Did you have positive lympn nodes prior to chemo and did you do rads?  I would think

those two things would impact any recurrences.  I did a lot of reading from medical

journal articles about recurrence after complete pathological response.

I know I had microscopic cells in one lymph node.  That was the only one tested.   I know when I originally had the tumor removed the surgeon left positive margins because he thought he was going to be doing a mastectomy the next day.  I decided to go to a cancer center.

So, I had positive margins and microscopic cells in a lymph node and that's about all I know.  After my bilateral mastectomies I had 26 radiation treatments.  I finished radiation on May 24, 2010.

Let's hope someone comes along and can answer this for us.

I am in a trial, and my trial dr told me his stats for the last 5 years, i cant remember the numbers, but he said i have a 2 percent chance of recurance.  I had PCR and I had at least 2 positive nodes.  I think he said something like 148 PCR, 3 relapses.  He's going to publish his study soon

I also have two friends that went through chemo at the same time on this board, one triple neg, one hers2, we all had neo chemo, all had PCR, and (knock on wood!!!) so far we are all doing well!  After my surgery my surgeon said they are seeing more and more of these results since the introduction of the taxenes but there havent been many studies done on them.
