1/8.

With her tumor at 3cm and ER+PR-HER2+, only one node involved is a good sign, right? The bs said that the other 7 nodes look "really good." Not sure what "really good" means, other than no cancer cells.

I am guessing this makes her Stage IIb, and indicates we caught it early?

Am I being a PolyAnna here?

    I regarded it as a good sign when I had only one node involved.  My tumor was slightly smaller, but I think when you catch Her2 in only one node you are pretty lucky.  I had a bliateral mastectomy and had 14 nodes removed, with only the one they had already seen on the PET scan involved. 

    I am so glad to hear that she got some good news!

    Hi Kiri's Mom:

    I too have HER2+ ER+  and my PR+ is only 5% but they are calling it positive. I had a much larger tumor and no nodes so there is a chance that she will only have 1 node. Yes Stage IIB is early. Granted they will not be able to stage properly till they do surgery. If she is doing chemo first then they might not really know the size of the tumor. They thought my tumor was 7cm and it ended up only 5.5cm.

    So final pathology after surgery can come out with very positive results. My BS was very doubtful I was going to be a stage IIB. He really thought I would be a stage IIIA.

    I think thats great news. I am 27 y.o. and have similar pathology - my tumor was 4.2cm and I had 3 nodes (micro-mets). Initially, the surgeon was sure (after 2 biopsys) that my nodes were going to be negative, unfortunately, that wasn't the case. Still, I consider myself lucky to be at a stage IIb - many younger women do not catch thier tumors early because we never expect to find cancer!
