So since I had this punch biopsy 3 weeks ago I am STILL waiting for the report, which I can pick up on Monday at 9am.

My question is - if its some kind of dermatitis (which is what the nurse said when she called me about it) - is that sufficent?!  I mean - doesnt dermatitis just mean an inflamation of the skin.  

If the Dr who took the one sample didnt tell them to specifically look for IBC is it possible that it could be wrong.

The Dr prescribed me a cream called Ectosone (I hope I spelled that right) I have used it for two days now and the redness seems to be going away.  Would it do that if it was IBC?!  I had this rash since Sept 24 and it was small, got a better, then came back a bit bigger, got better, then came back bigger again - and now its appears to be clearing up with this cream.

I had an ultra sound done and will get the results on paper from that on Monday at 9am as well.  The Dr said he didnt need a follow up after he got the report - but I dont know what it said exactly.

Also - I have a mammogram scheduled for the end of the month if I feel like I want one.

I had blood work done as well - and the Dr said they tested for specific things that show disease etc in the body and all my levels etc were perfect.

My rash is still somewhat itchy - but I just have the rash.  The pain is pretty much gone - its tender but so is my left breast.  

Would you feel satisfied this is nothing to worry about now.

    LiveStrongMom, just reading your post, it sounds like you probably have gotten an accurate dx -- especially if the RX is working so quickly.  And if your bloodwork was all normal, I would think that would back up your doctor's opinion that what you have is a dermatitis type rash.

    I think for peace of mind, you should ask him if IBC was specifically ruled out by lab test.  Then also get a copy of the report to see for yourself.  But it sounds like you're on the right track, and if I were you, I would stop worrying as long as the RX continues to resolve the problem.   Deanna

    wow you totally sound like me, except for the cream part.  i had to go pick up my biopsy results in person cause i was NOT going to sit around and wait for pete's sakes!!!  mine said no bacteria, fungus, or virus...not sure.  they are starting to think lupus.
