I do mammo and ultrasound every year since 39.

What do others do in similar situation?

Thanks.

How are you defining high risk?    From people that have a strong family history,  history of radiation such as from Hodgkin's disease? Personal history of breast cancer?

This ACS 2007 study made some recommendations as to who they recommend having *screening* MRIs. http://caonline.amcancersoc.org/cgi/content/full/57/2/75

Let us know what are the risk factors you considered? Apart from mammogram & breast ultrasound, self-examination is also a way to detect cancer. Early detection can be a big plus in treating breast cancer. Doctors may ask you to get Breast Biopsy done if you find anything suspicious or doubtful with your breasts while self-examination. Hope this will help!

    • Consider the breast MRI, this being a highly diagnostic tool for early detection. You may also wish to seek genetic counseling, depending on your high risk status re: family /personal history. Has anyone tested in your family? Prior to my PBM 3 months ago, I was having mammo/sono together and alternating MRI every 6 months.
