I haven't posted here in a long time. I'm 2 year and 3 months post diagnosis and have been on Tamoxifen for around 18 months. I haven't had a period in over two years but today had some light pink bleeding. I'm 51 so I'm worried about what it could be.

Thanks in advance, Lynette

Make an appt with your gyn; specifying that this is not your annual visit.   this lite spotting happens to many post-menopausal women and usually means nothing. But you'd want a pelvic exam, pap smear and bloodwork to rule out any cause. Esp having been on Tamoxifen.

A nurse-friend of mine had this spotting in august and is scheduled for gyn visit in November!  she has no history of cancer so maybe that is why the appt has not been expedited.

congrats on being 2yr 3month survivor!   I was diagnosed exactly 7 yrs ago this week.

Hi Lynette - it's probably a good idea to make an appointment to see your gynocologist if you are worried, but I did not have a period for 2 years either and now they are back and on a normal schedule just like they were before Chemo.   I think it is very common for Chemopause to last 2 years.  My bleeding has been very heavy when I get mine so I have had 2 internal ultrasounds to make sure there is nothing going on.  I think doctors are usually more concerned if the bleeding is extremely heavy and does not go away like a normal period.

If you are worried, get it checked out.  It is worth it to put your mind at ease.

    Hugs,

    Karen

Make sure you see the gyno especially ifn you are on Tamox or other hormonal meds.
