Onc/mammogram today--they found .5 mm calcifcation on my opposite breast, under my arm, not at the lymph node.  Radiologist does not think it is cancer but recommends excisional biopsy to get it out--have started the process of calling the surgeon, getting films, etc

I feel like it will be benign, and I am grateful that it does not look like an invasive situation....

anyone have anything like this.....????

    Hi,

    When I was diagnosed in May, the radiologist found calcifications on the "good" breast, which she did not think was anything to worry about. At the time, I was so preoccupied with the cancer diagnosis that it didn't register that this could be something to worry about. I have my follow-up mammo in 3 weeks, and plan on asking her if she is SURE they are nothing to worry about, and if she can't say that, then I want a biopsy. Better safe than sorry.

    I agree---

    I am meeting with the breast surgeon tomorrow.... pretty sure there will be a needle loc biopsy in my future sometime..... I feel like it is nothing and they are being over cautious---and I am fine with that.... but I am not looking forward to the surgery and waiting for pathology.

    On my first mammogram after treatment, the opposite breast was found to have microcalcifications.  I underwent a stereotactic biopsy and they were found to be benign - I had been told that it would most likely be nothing to worry about.    I am going to get my results from my current mamogram on Monday next and I must say that it is still nervewrecking.  I'm hoping for the best.  I am sending my best wishes to you, and hoping all will be well.
