The Biopsy Results Are In.....
They said it was dermatitis.
So I am completely confused - this rash that started out very small is now all over one side of my breast. It itches off and on, is painful, I also have pain in my underarm, that radiates down my arm to the elbow, rib pain....how is that dermatitis?! I don't get it.
Creams didn't work, antibiotics didn't work - so.....I am so confused?!
Could it be a false negative - I mean, they only took something the size of a pin head from one spot. Should I just be okay with this result or ask for another biopsy from multiple sites seeing now that the rash that appeared to go away, as now come back and bigger.....
I feel somewhat relieved but still worried.

HI there.. I have followed your posts the past few days. What type of biopsy did you have done? I'm pushing for a biopsy now. I'm really hoping it is a related to injury for me my situation. I would think that is good news though...

Dermatitis will come and go. Sometimes I only have it in a small spot, but other times my entire body is covered with it. It does itch, and is painful. Have they tested to see what you might be allergic to? I have had my entire body hurt inside when it is bad. While in the hospital I used some soap I was allergic to, I felt that internal itch/pain, and told the nurse. I was given meds right away to fight it off.

Hi, I also have been following your post, and I am also going through the same thing. I have seen 5 different doctors and they all have different opinions. I'm still waiting for my results, today is day #7 and they said about 10 days. My rash started under my arm just alittle one and in just 2 days it had spread to the entire breast, itchy, and very swollen , I took 7 days of antibotics and then had iv antibotics for 4 days. Now am on prednisone, this has helped the rash that spread across my body but has'nt touch the rash on the breast. Two doctors say entirely different rashes and 2 say dermatitis. I'm just waiting for my results and getting very scared. Well I quess if your not happy you need to keep pressing for answers , You need to feel comfortable. Good Luck

I hope good things for all of you.
I feel a bit calmer now that I have let this sink in a bit. I am also wondering if my tender lymph nodes are from my body maybe reacting to the dermatitis?! In any event, I feel much better.
I hope you all get healthy results.
I appreciate everyone who has taken the time to help and answer my questions.

Hi
I was following your posts too and glad you got good news. I was on here a few weeks ago b/c I had a weird red spot show up on my breast - turns out it was an injury from my 4-y.o. daughter pulling me (I remembered it days after I went to the doctor b/c she almost did it again - she does stuff like this cosntantly and I had forgotten). Anyway it had blood under it and it was basically a bruise from a bad pinch according to my derm. and OB. Well, right after I went to my doc to have him re-check it was healing fine (it is), I went to dinner one night and put on a bra that I had not worn in months. Within 15 mins at dinner I was itching and burning like crazy on both breasts - I could feel the bra irritating me. I came home and had red, splotchy rash-like marks all over both breasts, in the same pattern and same spots on both. Basically irritant contact dermatitis as doc said later. It would not go away so I went to the dermatologist, who said it was most likely the bra - that particular bra contained 27% spandex, more than any other bra I owned and was made in China. He thinks I may have a latex (which is in spandex) allergy b/c I'd had a rash on my mouth once after dental work and they labelled me as such and it can develop after repeated exposure. After speaking with the doctor and it had started healing, I did my own research and it turns out many bras can cause rashes and dermatitis, in fact there was a class action lawsuit against Victoria's Secret a couple years ago about several of their bras that contained formaldehyde(sp?) because it was made, guess where, in China. So just throwing this out there as another possibility for your dermatitis on your breast. I initially freaked out a little after I got the rash but since it was on both breasts in the exact same spots, I figured it was a reaction to something and not IBC, and I could feel it happening with that bra.
So check your bras to see the materials and where they're made. If you continue wearing a bra that is irritating your skin, the rash won't heal and the derm. told me these types of reactions can take a while to heal completely even after the irritant is taken away (regular old OTC hydrocortisone is making mine much better). I now have to buy mostly cotton bras - hard to find.
I just wanted to throw this idea out there to you to maybe look at a possibility for your rash that maybe you had not considered. I am so happy that you got benign results.
