THE 2ND TA TAS SISTERHOOD REUNION IN VEGAS!!

Susie!! Wow - what a jerk doc. Ask for copies of your reports! You need copies of all biopsies, surgeries, labs, etc. It's your right! Any medical facility / hospital/ doc office has a form you can get and request your records. Don't take what the doc says in a meeting or phone call as gospel. You need to have the written results for the labs & radiologists, etc. Just my humble opinion. {{{{SUSIE}}}}

Mona I noticed on fb you were born in Trenton, NJ.. Where about I also was born and raised very close by. Now I live about an hour south of Trenton.
-
I was born in Mercer County Hospital. We lived in Bordentown and Hamilton before we moved to NH when I was 10.
-
{{{{SUSIE}}}}} PLEASE keep me updated!! p.s. I will be in TD friday and sat! Gonna sell jewels at my sister's school...and to whomever else I can find...haha I'm hittin the streets! Seriously Susie...this is AWESOME news! You will only get....Better, Better, Better, Good, Good, GREAT, FANTASTIC, AMAZINGLY AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
HUGS! Jazzy

Susie, unbelievable news! Your photo says it all:)
Journey, you're so right, and it reminds me, I need to get on the phone and ask where the heck my records are that I requested! I had a jerk for a surgeon years ago, and he didn't want to give me my pathology report, said I wouldn't understand them, I got it, read it, and luckily saw there was an issue which made me more vigilant, which in the end led to a proper dx.
-
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!!!! Thanx for all the positive feedback & support (((HUGS))) Some of the information on me is still wrong...but getting all the information next month at the Dr. Appt. & doing excately what you have all mentioned. Getting copies of my reports...all of them!!
I think with all that was going on in my life when I got hit with this was just sooo overwhelming, you all know that feeling- I was losing Dr.'s that I cared about & given to others, then afraid to step out of my comfort zone when hit what I thought was bad bed side manners, thinking they are the experts & know best.....well we all know that isn't the case. Took me over a year to convince my surgeon something was terribly wrong & even with CT Scan's..they didn't show up how truely bad things were till he went in for emergency surgery.
SO...Hip Hip Hurray for the TA TA SISTERHOOD that gave me the much needed push( with abundance of LOVE) to check it out!!!!!!
Jazzy...we sooooo have to see each other with you soooo close!!! Aurora will be doing the Trick or Treating in The Dalles form 3-5 on Friday, then at 5:30...were releasing Balloons at Mom's hill site!!! 4 years to the date & time...want the sky to be brite & beautiful!!
Wishing all of you a safe & wonderful HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
TA TA'S, just another quick note...for those of you who couldn't make the reunion...I had plenty of special stickers made & still have some if you are interested in getting one-just PM me with your name & address & I'll get one out to you!!!!
Take care Chow XOXO Susie

Yay for Stage II! That is really wonderful news. That is a big mistake! It has to change your whole outlook on cancer and your life and everything! Who knew we would all be so excited about someone being diagnosed at Stage II! But seriously, Stage II is a much different animal than Stage IV.
I'm so happy for you that you finally have some good information. I have been so lucky to have had really great doctors throughout my entire journey that I forget that not everyone has the same experience. Glad you are getting the support you need.

Hi all!! I have recently learned that I have 2 titanium clips in my body from the mastectomy. Does anyone else have these types of clips and has anyone had problems with them? My reconstructed breast is still hard as a rock on the bottom and close to my underarm. There is still dark bruises in that area as well. Anyone experience anything like this and have any info as to whether the titanium clips could be causing problems? It has been a year and a half since my surgery.
-
Saskie -- what does your PS or your BS have to say about the bruises and the hardness? If you had had the surgery recently I'd say it sounds like a hematoma and the hardness is the bruise healing... but so long since surgery, I don't know at all. Also why did they put in the clips? I was told I would have them after biopsy to mark where the biopsy had been done (then they did not end up putting them in due to bleeding). No clips were ever mentioned either for lumpectomy OR for subsquent MX.
-
Hi Saskie, I found out 2 years ago that I had clips from earlier surgery. If anyone has a chest xray, if you have metal clips you will see them on the xray. I was concerned about getting an mri of my shoulder (didn't want them to fly out of me;) but it was and is no problem. Guess they've been in for either 10 or 20 years, I think they are used to clamp off blood vessels. The hardness I would call your doctor about, maybe it's scar tissue?
-
Thanks girls - I am trying to get the xrays sent to the plastic surgeon so he can see if they are in the same area I am having problems - if not guess we better see if there is something causing all this hardness and bruising. Not sure why they were put there but probably as Katey says to clamp off blood vessels.
-
I thought of all of you and giggled while watching The Office halloween tvshow. Jen dressed up as Olive Oil!

I received an email from Gretchen and she said that the surgery went well and lasted 12 hours..
She is sitting in a chair and progressing nicely.
She wanted to thank all of her BC sisters for their prayers. God was definately with her. She is at peace and totally positive about the surgery.
I am sure she will check in when she can.
This is great news.

Susie... did you get Herceptin?
-
Yes, but was only able to have 7 out of the 15 I was told I needed. They crippled me & ended up seeing a Specialist for that as well thinking I had rumthrod arthritics(spelled wrong) but I didn't. My blood pressure soared and at one point 150 over 100. my hands were in balls & couldn't open them & was painful to walk & I was hunched over, all my joints hurt, Pregnozone for a month, gained 50 lbs, but my body was no longer crippled by the end. My Onc. decided I was done
-
OIC
well.... the good news with HER2.... you did NOT have positive nodes. THAT IS HUGE!!!!!!
((hugs))
-
Prayers for Ebann... so sorry to hear this.
Suzie -- if it's any consolation, I've read that even getting half the Herceptin infusions may be as effective as having them all. And yeah, as Laura said, thank goodness no nodes!
-

wow I have many pages to read...A few of you might know but I will share with the rest why I fell off the grid. After getting back from Vegas I decided to leave my husband something I have been thinking about for a year+. Just have been super busy starting up a new household. As usual didn't get any help splitting things up and my spouse won't allow me to have any of my friends help me and was even made when my sister helped get a washer and dryer for me 2 hours away at her sister in laws house which you would think make total since for her to help me out. We have been staying cival but has been hard. I hardly took anything from the house so it's been a lot of work. I've turned into a craigslist junky finding really good deals I must say. Well want to get some rest... want to make my boy a good breakfast before I have to go to work and send him off to school. Will be childless for the next 5 days so wil try to get on line even though I still have a lot or organizing I would like to work on plus want to paint my basement sometime soon.
Sandy/Sunshine : )
-
ps will try to load my pix soon also
-
Aw Sandy -- what a big rite of passage! You sound like you are made strong by the decision. I'm sorry your spouse is making things difficult for you. It's hard enough, isn't it? We are here for you!
And thanks for letting us know.
Keep in touch with your dancing spirit!
-
Sandy
I'm so sorry. I had no idea and it makes me sad to realize that as much as all of us talked, I never had enough of a personal conversation with you to know what you were going through. I have been through a divorce (with my ex-husband) and a separation and reconciliation (with my current husband) and in both cases it was the right decision for me.
I know you are making the right decision for you and I'm so proud of you for being strong and decisive. But that doesn't make the day to day any easier. I so wish we lived closer! I would love to come over and give you a hug! Well consider yourself hugged, girl. Keep your chin up.
Much love to you!
Tracy
