So I saw two different Drs and here is what they said......
So then I went to a different emerg last night (again, can't see my Dr until the 21st of October) She didn't really look at my breast too much, and just looked at only the right side while I laid down and didn't compare it to the left. She said she would send me for a mamo. I said would that detect this type of cancer and she said "it may or may not".....so wtf?! Why do it then?!
So I called today to schedule the mamogram and they told me that after looking at my papers they didn't want to expose me to the radiation at this point and so I am going for an ultra sound on the 19th of October.
I am really not sure what to think. Both Drs said they didn't feel it was anything like cancer, but couldn't give me any other reason for the tenderness in one boob, or for the itchy feeling. They both said they didn't see a "rash" but rather, some red marks on the side and one small red spot under the nipple.
Should I just call back and insist on a biopsy?! So confused here =(

I first went to an obgyn who ordered an ultrasound & mammo early the following week. I also had a 3.5cm tumor which pushed through all the tests that I needed. My ultrasound also showed suspicious of inflammatory bc. R breast was warm & larger than the L. I had itching and what looked like a bug bite red rash and the organge like dimpling. It took me 3 weeks to get into my obgyn, but rest of the tests were one after another.

Normally, the breast symptoms associated with IBC are the result of lymph drainage backing up into the breast.
It is caused by clogged lymph nodes that are disfigured by cancer growth.
I would think that an ultrasound would be very revealing...big ugly lymph nodes are very suspicious indicator of advanced disease.

The Dr said last week she felt a lymph node - and I asked her if that was bad, she said it wasn't swollen, she just felt one?! I felt around too - and I don't know what to look for really. But I do have lots of shooting pains in my breast and arm.....collerbone as well.

I would demand a biposy even if for peace of mind. Psychologically what you are suffering is cruel. I am so sorry this is happening to you. Hugs ~Zeana

I did have a skin punch biopsy - I have to wait two weeks for the results. It's already been a week - so one more to go!
-
Why so long? I got mine back within about 4 days I think.
-
I have no idea why it's a two week wait?!
I did get a call from the nurse at my Dr's office today - she said the ultra sound looked fine and the Dr didnt feel I needed another appt. So, I assume that is good news.

Every lab operates differently so you can't compare how long it takes to get results from one lab to another. Some labs have lots of staff; others don't. Some labs have someone available to review the results immediately; other labs require more time for the review process. You also have to take into account where weekend fall. In Canada our labs tend to run pretty lean and on average they take about 5 - 7 working days to get results. Usually if you are told "2 weeks" it's so that they know for sure that the results will be ready and reviewed and written up by then.
