I've been one busy girl with the Dr.'s these past 2 days. Results are in...had chest x-rays done & blood drawn...clear on chest..white count abit up,but to be expected since I have asthma. It seems I might have had whooping cough..it's going around. The meds shoud've taken care of it, but with the weather & my asthma at it's worst..another week of rest..but this is good news YEAH!! Saw my surgeon & between him & main Dr. getting a 2nd opion from a ONC. next month..he comes from Portland CLARE!!!! Visit's here & takes care those in need. Got a handle on some of the mess up reports on me & fixed them to my best..din't know how the numbers got soooo messed up..but I wasn't a stage 4 as they had told me & wrote it down, only a stage 2. I've got plenty of question's when I see the next Onc., then with a new pair of eyes...can ask away without being upset to some of the answer's. THANX to all of you for your continued concern on this & asking me...I was just taking what they said without asking due to some other incidents that occured & didn't want to be made to feel stupid again.
I'll give you one of the incidents so you might understand what I'm talking about. I was gonna have both breast removed when we found out about the Cancer, there was a questionable bump on the right side too...but it came back ok. Surgeon talked us out of the double the day of the surgery due to Aurora's age & I would need a good arm with all the lymth nodes being removed. So I was promised we would take care of the right one in 3-4 months down the road....medical stuff happened & the syrgery was put off abit longer, in the meantime..another lump formed. So scheduled to remove it & then my Onc. tells me I should "smoke a pack of cigs & be concerned about getting red food dye poision" I looked at him & he said see how ridiculius that sounds...well that's how ridiculicus it is for you to have your right breast removed. I was deeply hurt & at the same time becoming crippled due to a side effect of the herceptin-which he wouldn't believe me either that it was the reason. He's also the one who wrote down what stage I was. Other situations have occured...time to get a 2nd opinion!!!!
THANK YOU to all who showed me it's ok to do that!!! I couldn't & wouldn't have done it with out you (((HUGS))) Power Prayers still sent out to all 0:) GOD bless
Take care Chow XOXO Susie
-
Susie.. this all sounds real good! Your DX sounds JUST like mine... EXCEPT.. I had 3 or more nodes positive too..... and I was not Er +. AND... I was IDC... not DCIS..... uggggggggggg
I am glad you did get a second. I am too... um...... non trusting . so for me to get many opinions is pretty right on.... but if you are not this way... by nature.. I am sooooooooooo glad you did this.
XXXOOO
-
Susie -- Well that is great news that you are Stage II instead of IV... yay!
-
Susie. Bless you....you are an inspiration....always so positive. So glad things are coming around for you, you deserve a break BIG TIME !!!!!!!!!! ((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))

-
Susie, I'm SO glad to hear that things are improving for you. Now to get rid of that onco! What a JERK! I think docs should challenge us, but only to help us think everything through and make a good decision. It is YOUR body, YOUR life, not his. Who is HE to tell you what to do, and in THAT tone? Grrrrr.
-
Susie,
So so glad you are seeing another oncologist. What an a$$hole.......
I love your positive attitude and your energy....keep that beautiful smile going....thrilled that you are doing better
Love Linda
BOO!
-
Yay Susie, what great news!!! Well not about the jerk doctor, of course, but the news of being stage II not stage IV, and seeing the new doc.
I have to admit I'm confused though...your signature line says DCIS, which is by definition stage 0. Was that some original diagnosis that got revised to IDC or something else invasive along the way? If not, then it seems you have still more questions to ask about your case, since DCIS and stage 2 (or stage 4) don't jibe.
Regardless of MY confusion though, I'm so glad things are looking up for you!!!
-
Yay Susie!! Way to go!! I'm so happy you are going for a second opinion. that is messed up, what a jerk. JUDY
