I need a new Doctor
The process i hav gone through with my cancer has been rough - one thing after another everytime I think everything is goingto be ok they hit me with some thing else = now it is radiation
So i said as much to my Oncologist - he did not take me questioning him very well at all - so I ended up yelling at him.
Hence the need for a new Oncologist - i would like some one in the Kasas Ciy East area - any suggestions ?
thanks
Melisa

If your physician isn't listed here it doesn't mean they aren't great. This is just a guide. Physicians do not pay to be on this list.

First i had my boobs cut off, then 2 weeks later the surgeon told me that she wanted me to go to see an Oncologist - you have to understand after chopping my boobs off she told my family i was clean. CLEAN. So I suck it up and go see the oncologist on Tuesday he gives me a prescription for Tamoxafen. I take it and suck up the horrible side effects - he calls me Thursday - and tells me I will need radation now - I said ok and then called my family bawling. Then it sincks in that he just told me 2 DAYS AGO I just need the Tamox. I call him back with a laundry list of questions and the 1st one was why didnt he tell me this 3 days sgo - He says he didnt have time to study my file closeenough until after our appointment - to me that mean that he doesnt have time for me. I dont need a doc like that. I need to feel like he is making time for me for my case. I said as much to him. He did not take it that well.the discussion escalted in a bad way -
I you we haveto trust our doctors - if we dont we have no business seeing them at all.

melisa get a new Dr. They work for us, we pay them lots of money. As far as a new Dr. are you near a mojor breast center. If you are give them a call. I've found I have had good luck when I stay with the specialists.

If you can't find anyone suitable in the KC area- I saw a radiation onc in St. Louis I thought she was great. I live in Springfield, my rads onc here referred me to Dr. Marie Taylor at Siteman cancer Center- i was in a gray area on whether to do rads or not ( I did it). She might be a good source for a second or third opinion if you want to be really sure. Out of all the docs I saw through the whole ordeal, she was my favorite- very caring, really listened to me, very knowledgeable and is a breast specialist.
