Rib Pain
This week I developed a pain on the right rib, same side as my bc. It doesn't hurt until I touch that spot and then it's really sore. Almost feels like a bruise but it doesn't show up on the skin like a bruise. I do lift weights about 3x per week and other stuff but I don't remember hurting it?? My question is, does anyone know how most bone, rib etc.metastases feels like??
Of course anytime something feels different I freak out!!
Thank you

Hi Tiff,
I can't tell you what mets to the ribs feels like. As far as I know, I don't have that but I do know about rib pain.
Google Costochondritis. It is a very common inflamation of the cartalidge between the ribs and can feel like the ribs themselves are hurt or like you are having chest pain. You may find that you are experiencing that especially if you are working out differently than before. The other common cause of rib pain is from lipomas that live in between the ribs. Totally benign but they can get stuck or inflamed sometimes, usually after physical activity and cause pain when pressed on.
Wishing you all good things! Try not to worry!

I have noticed sensitive areas on my ribcage over the last couple years since diagnosis as well. It always makes me freak out thinking it's mets. It is usually about 2 days after I've worked out my upper body. I would try not to worry about it too much, especially since it doesn't hurt you continuously, only when you touch that area. Give it 3 weeks. If it is still bothering you at that point, then bring it up to your GP or Onc

Thank you both for your comments. Don't you just wish we didn't have to think about BC almost everyday? ;- I hope you have a great day

I have rib pain...especially after straining. I suffer severely from constipation. My ribs were hurting so bad I thought I was having a recurrence so my doctor ordered chest x-ray and I was fine (back in March).
Like you, I hate thinking about BC all the time. I'm scheduled to have my yearly mammogram on Wednesday. I will have tumor markers drawn tomorrow and will try and get my yearly chest x-ray.

My rib area has a dull ache all of the time; more so after an upper body workout. I am almost 4 years out, so it is just my 'new normal'.
