Okay everyone I've been slacking! Went to VA for a few days and when I came back I have to train 2 new office help and the maintainence man has been fired. Bosses cleaned house real fast. I still have a job and minding my P's and Q's. Friend had polyps taken off of her voice box 2 weeks ago and still can't talk so I am her voice. Not fun but getting through it. Learned to text on my phone! Also my friend gave me a early Xmas/b'day present while in VA. A digital camera. So now I have to learn how to do all of that. I'm not into electronics. My butt is getting bigger so now I have to get back into exercising and working on that. Off to the doctor with my friend. I'll get bak soon. Hugs to everyone. I've missed ya.

Dianenv, do you get the Myrtle Beach channel, or can you watch it on the 'net??
Sorry I haven't been on for awhile. The walk was GREAT!, but I am really just wiped out from driving to Wilmington, and back, and then I got roped into helping with the 2011 Relay for Life in N. Myrtle Beach.... Maybe I should just say NO.... oh, that is what you are supposed to say to drugs?? LOL
-
Rested last night but YOGA tonight! Yay!
Joy, I had to crack up about your butt getting bigger. LOL it seems so unfair though, it seems to sneak up on you too quickly at this age!
-
Harley I tried getting it on the net, but to no avail. If you can figure it out or link it that would be great, I think we all would like to see it.
It is supposed to rain today, YEAH!! Las Vegas needs a change.
Happy Wednesday everyone!

Not that any of us are world-class athletes, but I thought this article was interesting, perhaps because we've also all had to push through physical pain and mental barriers and learn to pace ourselves, just like them...

After acupuncture and chiropractor...I'm sore! Was so tired last night, I fell asleep before 8:15 (while watching Biggest Loser)...Up early and did whole flexibility DVD, I'm all tight!
Diane, emailed you my phone #, hope we can meet up Saturday!
Spring, you overdid it on the bike (thank goodness I'm not the only one who does that). Hope you're doing better!
Harley, you sound like a 'pleaser' person like me. I'm driving my sister and her brood of animals to Vegas Friday....should be comical...but my younger DD is coming with me so I'm excited to spend time with her.
Joy, you crack me up!
-
Another Yoga tonight. I love it when I do two a week. I am missing my weights at the gym though! I hope I can get that in tomorrow. Work was insane today. ugh.

Harley I could not get it,
.
Kari I am sorry we couldn't meet up. I have to walk 6 hours tomorrow. Hopefully when you come to visit!
Happy weekend everyone!!
-
no problem... I posted it on Facebook...
Hope everyone has a GREAT WEEKEND!
The weather is WONDERFUL!! I'm going out for a run.

95 minute bike ride today, it was a gorgeous day, sunny clear crisp - we ride for 90 minutes on the greenway. it was excellent. Also, did upper body weights.
Enjoy ladies!
-
Loving this beautiful weather. I did go to the center this mornng and walked the dog. She doesn't let me have any time off. Right now it is too much candy for me. But I love it so. Still training on night shift. The one person is not going to make it. Having trouble remembering everything. And it isn't that hard. Not a person for the public job. The other lady is great!! Not much going on here. Did get to the mountains and it was hot up there too. Now they are saying we are going to have a very cold winter. Wish it could stay just like this. 71 at 11 pm and 69 at 7 am. Nice!! Hugs to all

Went to the gym and did the weights today, but can't seem to get motivated to do cardio! Yoga Tuesday and Wednesday of this week. We are flying out to New Orleans early early Thurs and back Sunday. I am having some "touch up" recon surgery, and this should be the LAST one. I am a little sad that I will be "in recovery mode" again, but hopefully it will be a quick recovery this time...
Joy, the weekend, wasn't the weather heavenly? Today is gray and rainy. Leaves are starting to come down! I heard on the news that right now is peek leaf peeping up in the mountains...
-
Lows for tonight will be 72. In the upper 70's all week. Actually worked in the yard today and worked up a sweat. Plus walked the dog and went to the center twice this week. I'm on a roll. Hate to think of turning on the a/c at the end of Oct. Now to stay out of the candy!!
Have a safe trip Spring and in my prayers.
Hope everyone is having a great week.
-
Yoga tonight! Just sayin'!
-
Spring, you're so brave to do more surgery, but I know you'll be so happy to finally get everything done and looking perfect. Is your actual surgery on Thursday? Do you know how long it will be? I will be thinking of you and praying that everything goes beautifully, which I'm sure it will.
Your weather sounds idyllic, Joy. And I hope the new trainees work out and will lessen your workload, especially those back-to-back shifts they too-often expect of you.
My sister is visiting this week and we've been walking a lot -- as well as eating & shopping
We have two new French patisseries in our area, and we've tried them both.
Hope everyone's having a good week! Deanna
-
Sounds like a great time Deanna, nice you can walk with your sis!
My surgery is Friday (we fly out tomorrow, Thurs). I think it will just be a short hour or so, I hope. I get a Tattoo this December, then DONE!
Yoga again tonight. Then packing... I hope I am not laid up too long from exercise this time.
-
Weights and Warrior woman yoga! And the chiropractor. My body feels excellent and ready to get this surgery behind me...
-
Hi All. Just wanted to check in and let you know I survived another surgery! Yay! I am very sore but only taking Tylenol, and comfortable enough. I was told I couldn't lift anything heavier than 10 pounds for TWO WEEKS!!! ahhhck! I am going to have my work cut out for me getting the trunk lymphedema under control after 2 weeks of no weights, plus the surgery effects!!
I just keep envisioning my body like it was prior to surgery. I will get back there. Strong, healthy body. Strong, healthy body. Strong, healthy body. In motion. Amen!!
-
Springtime I am glad you survived another surgery!!! You are strong and healthy!
-
Happy to see you posting already, Spring! YaY for having that final surgery behind you!!!!! I'll bet healing will go really fast for you! Deanna
-
yeah Spring! I know what you mean. I think the forced inactivity is the hardest part of any surgery.
I made it back from my trip without gaining weight. That has been my goal when I'm out of town and my exercise and eating routine is harder to manage--to not lose ground. The scale is ssllloooowwwlllyy creeping down. Have to keep it up so I'll be happy with the pictures I'll be in for DS's wedding next Fall! Plus, just want to be happy looking in the mirror again.
treadmill and weights yesterday. I think today will be a Pilates and weights day.
-
KMMD, wonderful!! Slow weight loss is best anyway, and great you hold ground when out of town!
I invested in a new "compression" garment this time and this thing rocks, not only more gentle on skin but also I can move more. I did knees to chest in bed this AM. I am going to try some gentle yoga later today. It feels so good to move.
-
I am finally checking in! Spring, so happy all went well with your surgery. Gentle hugs sistah!
Been slammed at work, new guy started and he's high maintenance! LOL!
Gotta run, just wanted to say Hey Hey Hey!!
-
Hey Hey Hey Kari! I am reduced to just a few minutes of very gentle yoga each day while I recover from surgery.... but it feels Sooo Goooood.
where is everyone ??
-
I have been slammed at work as well. I don't even have time to read the forum all that often. I have been walking faithfully and looking forward to my walk being here-I am tired of training!
I hope everyone is good!
-
I'm here, too. Been catching a quick read when I can, but had my sister visiting from the East for a week or so, and wasn't on the computer much during that time. And, even though we walked a lot and hiked some, it still wasn't the strenuous walking I'm used to and very much need to get back into.
Kari, how'd that caravan move go? Diane, when's your big walk? Hi to kmmd, joy, spring and all! Just heard DH come in, and we agreed we'd get to the club tonight, so gotta run... Deanna
-
Hi all, chiming in quickly before I start 'working' for the day. The caravan road trip went WAY better than expected!!!!!! My DH and I picked up my younger DD and dropped us off bright and early at my sister's house. An hour and 15 min later 3 vehicles were packed up with 16 animals! DD and I were in the rental van that had stow and go seats, which was cool - we had 2 HUGE dogs and only 3 cats! YAY, my sister had 4 cats and my BIL had 7 cats and off we went. Of course how is that I always end up with one of the cats that uses his crate to relieve himself OMG it was soooo gross. Lots of stops along the way and my DD took over driving my sister's car halfway (my sis has MS) so my sister jumped in my car. It was the best of both worlds visiting with my DD (she lives 2 hours away so I rarely see her) and my sister!! We rolled in to Vegas right at 5pm on Fri 10/22. Now mind you, Pres. Obama was in Vegas so traffic sucked !! Took us one hour to go 1 mile!! not kidding. We were turned around over 7 times on roads by police, it was chaos...cars just u-turning EVERYWHERE!!!!! And we had to be at the animal hospital by a certain time to have the animals checked in and kenneled. We finally got there after my DD called the place and the lady told us how to go without being turned around. DD and I unloaded our van asap and hugged, kissed and waved goodbye to all and we took off for the Hard Rock Hotel (which by the way I got a killer deal off of Priceline on my bid). We had been upgraded to a suite in their new tower! We had a blast people watching and taking pics (for those of you on FB you've seen the pics I'm sure) and just being sill together! I LOVED IT!! The next morning we parked along the strip and did some sight seeing, had lunch then headed to the airport to drop off the van and catch our flight at 2:15pm. Flew back to the craziest storm!!!!!! It was memorable to say the least. The only part we didn't like was dog and cat hair flying through the van, my DD and I were pretty grossed out by that. I love animals and all, but don't like their hair all over me! Ewwwww. LOL
So that trip triggered my low back/hip thing again and it is just now subsiding. Thank goodness! I am planning my DD's baby shower, it is this Sunday so I've been really busy planning and stressing on that. Just under 40 people will be at my house and I'm not ready yet!!!!!!! UGH I sent my DH to the bay area so I can get stuff done! LOL Not much exercise at all and I'm feeling guilty, you should hear me "just to kmmd's 10 minute rule" but that ain't cutting it either I'm afraid. I will do better next week.
Oh Diane, a friend of mine is doing the San Diego walk as well and is on your training schedule! YOU ROCK the casbah!!!!
Hi to all!!!!!!!!!
-
Wow, Kari, what a trip! Animals galore! And good for you getting such a good deal on priceline, and getting a suite no less! Glad to hear your hip/back thing is getting better!
-
Okay - been mia for a few. I thought I was coming down with something and my body goes in sleep mode and I slept for two days. Feel better now. The guy I was training didn't work out and left after 3 weeks. Another girl was hired and she didn't even make it in to work. Called an half hour before to quit and now we have another that I haven't worked with yet but I feel she isn't going to make it either. The full time girl hired is working out and is fantastic. I'm on days for 4 days then go back on nights. Made it to the center 3 times last week and only once this week. I did have to babysit two puppies along with my baby. So I had a 6 lb and 4 lb with my 71 lb dog!! My Dd was exhausated when the puppies left. My "sister" that moved to Beaufort has put out a silver alert for her brother. No one has heard from him since Oct 3. No transactions on his bank accounts and no calls. He is diabetic and a druggie. His daughter is getting really worried and they have the police and coast guard looking for him. Unfortunately when you mention drugs they put him on the back burner and not looking as hard for him. So am trying to help deal with that. The weather turned cold this weekend. Acutally turned the heat on (ugh) and put socks on this morning. Next week it is suppose to be back in the 70's.
Spring- glad to hear all is well with you. I know you are sighing it is almost over.
A lady in yoga class is a 16 year cervical cancer survivor and was just diagnosed with BC. She had a lumpectomy and seems to be doing fine. Keep her in your prayers. I've rambled enough and will keep up with ya'll - I promise. Hugs to all
