Jancie hope you are feeling better... And Judy so glad to see you back..
Okay so I found a new plastic surgeon who was supposed to call me by the end of thie week (tomorrow) with an appt. I called today just to see if by any chance they were ready to schedule me for a consultation and the receptionist says.."Dr. Fahey is not taking any new patients".. I had a few words with her and told her my records were already being sent because Dorothy (the other recept) told me to get my records transferred from my ps and have them sent to Dr. Fahey. To make a long story short she told me to call back tomorrow and she will talk to the doctor and see what they can do. Please pray that they schedule me for a consultation.. If not I will now have NO ps... I was just so upset today...It was just such a let down...

Jennifer - Here's more good wishes that you find a great new PS, whether its this one you mentioned or another.
Suzie - Your upbeat attitude never ceases to amaze and inspire me - thanks for that always, and warm wishes to you for healing, healing, healing in all ways.
About FB - Ok, I started a "private" FB account (as CSfoursevens as last name...like for many it didn't like my 7s!) and sent a friend request to the TaTa Sisterhood. I guess I have to wait for its owner (Estepp?) to "accept" yes? As for all the other TaTa sisters, I still have to make friend requests to all of them separately, right? (Sorry if that's a dumb question!)
-
I'll send ya an invite CS (from my TaTa account)!
Laura E: no I did not have radiation. I had two lumpectomies, THEN chemo, then MX -- the pathology on the tissue post-MX was NED so there was no discussion of radiation at that point. In truth, though, I was told that I would not need radiation if I had the MX... perhaps because it was near the nipple (and not the chest)?
LOL re: your chemo brain thread idea -- I would call it: Chemo Brain -- real or real? It is NOT fiction! I have it too... I hate it. I was always famous for the details I could recall that no one else could. I definitely do find that the short term memory is not as good as it was.
-
Wow, just finished the sign up on FB and already have a friend request from some unknown person that I'm pretty sure is NOT a TaTa Sister (Ella Noe--that's no one here, is it?). Sheesh!!!
Also, for anyone who's super-duper concerned about being publicly associated with BC and related, or TaTa's for that matter
- Anyone who searches FB can find the TaTa Sisterhood listing, and when they click through to it the "Friends" of the page show up on the LHS with the profile pictures, even w/all the privacy settings on "Friends Only". I've never found a way to hide this list/pics of friends from nonfriends so I don't think there's a way to do so. (If anyone else has figured it out, please let me know!). Assuming it can't be hidden, anyone who doesn't want to show up publicly in that list can use an unidentifiable pic instead of their face. Yeah I know I sound paranoid now, LOL...just pointing it out, in case anyone's concerned....
-
I doubt anyone I know personally would ever search TaTa Sisterhood
If they do, they are welcome to find me out! LOL
-
Estepp ~ Someone gave me some Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing with encapsulated shine-release complex and olive oil. Tried it today and it feels and smells great so far. Have you heard of it?? If I can get the frizz out of my life I may be tempted to NOT shave my head again.

Ladies today I called the ps just to check in and see if they were able to squeeze me in as a new patient. The receptionist said she spoke with the doctor and she will let me know on Monday. She also said they will try to fit me in for an appt some time next week. Please cross your fingers and pray for me..
Judy I just fb friended you and I am waiting for you to accept me..
Ladies I need a tatas shirt like everyone else wore in Vegas. Mine did say Viva La Tatas but it had NO bling.. I was soooo disappointed when I got to the piano bar and everyone had such pretty shirts and mine was just plain
. If anyone knows where I can get one please let me know...That is unless we will be wearing different shirts next year. {{{{{{HUGS}}}}} I miss you all!
-
Jennifer ~ I have a t shirt for you!! PM me your address and it will be in the mail on Monday.

Laura - there is definitely chemo brain. Even a year later I have to stop and think OK where did I put that or try to come up with someone's name I see just about every day. It is very frustrating. So are the side effects from the cure of side effects. I was taking a mild antidepressant to control the peripheral neuropathy in my teeth and feet. Side effect - horrible constipation - now trying to get that under control and have to try a different drug for the neuropathy. It just doesn't seem to quit.
-
Chemo brain is definitely well-documented at this point, sadly a prevention/treatment for it hasn't been found. Unfortunately (well, fortunately in the bigger picture I guess) I don't have that as an excuse for my memory lapses. Middle age, perimenopause, and tamoxifen will have to take the blame.
-
I'm jealous - it sounds like all of you had too much fun in Vegas - hopefully I'll be there next year!!
-
I'm behind, but want to give Susie a belated HUG for the depth and honesty of her sharing. Susie you are a remarkable woman.

Ladys.... anyone who had not JOINED OUR FACEBOOK TATA THREAD... you need to.
PM me on how to................. you are missed...
Welcome home JAZ!
-
Thanks Laura! I sure needed girlfriend time! It was JUST what the doctor ordered! I have been experiencing a lot of pain from scar tissue that was formed from my port. It started to really hurt while I was in Vegas...I've been waiting for physical therapy to call...but it's already been over a week! My ps was not happy that they haven't called me and he was going to call over there personally and find out what the problem was...Well I'm just going to call them tomorrow. My gf did some massaging for me...but unfortunately it has irritated it more and it's kind of freaking me out. Has anybody else had this problem?
-
Jaz......I had extensive rads so I have a lot of scar tissue. All I can say... is that if I do not do 30 min a day of stretching..PT... and massage... I will have to have my breast removed. I am not sure how to stop the pain. I was pretty much told.... " good luck"
You are VERY lucky you have a girlfriend like you do. ALL my friends here... are glad my.." cancer" is over. I have DH.
-
Love ya Susie.....You amaze me every day.....
Ladies I have finally finished uploading all the pictures in the tatas FB. Please, please feel free to tag yourself in all the pictures.
Love ya bunches
