Brenda, do I win a prize?  Could I get the Boobie Prize.  Just one, that is all i need.

Alicia, damn that Mother Nature....curse her all to hell.  I am quite enjoying not seeing her.  Although, I am planning a vacation with my DH for the spring.  I am sure she will be back for that.

I hear ya...a pink stone would be nice..

Pam good to see you again. Glad all is going well for you.

Linda, congrats on the super day.  They should all be like that.

Nette, I hear ya about getting checked. I am afraid to go and afraid not to go...The picture is of my son and I at the beach talking.  I know it is small, but I felt I needed a change.  Glad that you had such a super sister weekend.

it is funny all the crazy terms we make up.  We should make our own cancer dictionary....threadaversary, cancerversary, chemobrain..the list goes on.

Pam ~ so nice to hear from you.  The cancerversary is tough ~ tears may fall but treat yourself to a nice manicure/pedicure or massage ~  do something nice for YOU and CELEBRATE Life !!!!!

Michele ~ you are so funny with the "boobie prize"  just one... haha.  Love your sense of humor.

Nette ~ yes I am soooo over PINK !  and people feel the need to give me all kinds of pink ribbon stuff.  PLEASE I don't want it and won't wear it.  I have my tattoo and my scars that is more than enough of a reminder.  As well as this peacock out of control hair.  Glad you got a good mammo report, follow up in 6 months I'm with you.

Linda ~ Congrats on the good day ~ and hoping that arm gets better real soon.

Brenda ~ I agree with everyone else, a PINK stone in a pretty ring would definately not be a bad thing. :)

Today I am going for my 2nd haircut ~ it is just so round and bushy.  I need it a bit funky or something.  I don't know ~   It is growing slowly.....but definately getting more hair, thick and the ends are a bit too coarse for my liking.

    Wishing everyone a great day.

    :)

I am getting my first haircut on Oct 20th, there is a salon that is donating hair do's to chemo heads. Right now, it just looks ...hell, I don't know what it looks like.

I posted a Pink rant on the stage III board, I am just not feeling it, I must be a bitter uni-boober.

My sis-in-law is having surgery today, maybe uterine cancer, they are going to go in and see what is in there. They will biopsy it while she is on the table. If it is B9, they will do a hysterectomy. If it is malignant, they will close her back up and send her to an Onc. Cross your fingers she wakes up with less parts.

Alicia: Wow - your hair looks SO good. It's not frizzy at all and it looks SO long!!!!!

I working 4 full days this week - so far so good. I actually did three in a row and was fine. I had today off instead of Wednesday as I went to the dermatologist for him to scrape off the little brown spots I had under my boobs. All finished with him for now. Next step is the mammo and US next Wednesday - fingers crossed.

     Yeah - it's Friday tomorrow!!!

Wow, Alicia!  Awesome -do!!!  Looks very soft. And the highlights look great!

I got my 3rd cut yesterday and am loving the no-bangs look for me.  I had had some form of bangs for forever, but when the hair drying person dried my hair yesterday with bangs (looked exactly like Jamie Leigh Curtis has now) and my hairdresser said he liked it that way, I didn't, and so I made her gel it and flip the bangs up...punks it up a little, though the hair on top is not as long as yours, Alicia.  Actually, at first, he barely trimmed my hair and when he started to walk off, I said, "Is that all you're going to cut?  I'd like it shorter, please."  I figure if I'm going to have it short, it might as well be unusually short.    :)

Melinda:  great news for your SIL!!!!   A huge sigh of relief.

Sue: what did you mean by the "US next Weds."?

    Happy Thursday!!  Nette

Sue, I was wondering the same thing. Are you coming to the states?

Nettie, I have the same hair. It's getting long in the back and still short in the bang area. My crown looks like an overgrown garden. I need to be careful I don't get the mullet!!!

Suepen: Is US for ultrasound or United States.

And how cool is it that we thought United States before Ultrasound, that may mean we are getting further away from all this cancer crap.

Linda: the mullet...that is what I have, I haven't been able to figure out what is wrong with my head, now I know.Until next Wednesday anyway...seeing all the new hairdo's is getting my excited for my first cut.

    Remember the days when:

    AC was air conditioning

BC was birth control or before Christ

PET was a cat or dog

    CA was California

    TN was Tennessee

NED was a guy you used to know

ER was a show with George Clooney

    Mets was a baseball team

Those were the good old days!

wow.  I didn't think of "ultrasound" either.  And I did try to think of what "test" could fit the initials.  duh.

Yeah, Melinda, those were the days, my friend.  Can we go back to those days?  I liked them better.

One of my sisters bought us these shirts for our Sister Weekend.  It was this time last year that I was going through the surgeries, prior to the treatments, so the shirts were pretty appropriate.

Oh gosh yes the mullet...  That is why I cut my hair again.  I really have to stop or it will never grow.

Melinda ~ love your analogy.  :(

Nette ~ you look GREAT!  Love your hair and your shirt.  The short hair is very becoming on you.

In a way I am glad we can't escape it....The pink...It's OK and it is US. I will always remember forever us "Warriors" how we fought this journey together, we laughed, we cried, we got  highly p#$@d off at times, we lost our boobs and found them agian, we lost our hair and have a "New Virgin" head to deal with, but we all found each other and better yet, we are all still here sisters!

                             This lovely PINK OCTOBER

To Celebrate Life and celebrate that we all have each other       (((((GROUP HUG)))))

    I will never forget

Girls...  I attended an event in NYC this week called The SCAR Project.  (google it, facebook it, check it out)  As a lucky recipient of a double mastectomy it was so moving.  It was a photography exhibit about YOUNG women (18-33) affected by breast cancer, photographed showing their scars in someway.  They look beautiful, happy, sad, courageous....  just amazing.  It made me feel like holy crap ~ I am actually lucky to have been 42 at the time of diagnosis.  Some of these girls will not live to graduate college; as who is looking for breast cancer so young??  For some it has been found too late for them and they are fighting for their life each day.   Many of the models were there in front of their pictures with friends and family.  It was a very emotional thing but I am glad I attended.  It almost made me feel lucky.

    So...

I find with PINKTOBER upon us and knowing this time last year the scary journey of surgery, chemo, tissue expanders, hair loss, neulasta shots, a shoe box of pills to swallow, etc..~ I am very emotional.  Sometimes I just start crying driving in the car or something.  I guess if tears are there they need to come out.  I am happy and sad at the same time.  But most of all I am grateful for each day........  I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for holding my hand and being my sisters. My "Warrior" Sisters.  Together we can ~ SURVIVE!

    Hugs,

    Alicia
