On October 5th, there will be a new book released called "Previvors: Facing the Breast Cancer Gene and Making Life Changing Decisions". Its a guidebook for anyone who is considered high risk for breast and ovarian cancer..... a "Previvor".

There is also a cool new iPhone app that can help find specialists in your area, assess risk, etc that you can access through the website, www.previvors.com.

just finished it...great book, also just read 'pretty is what changes' and waiting on 'why I wore lipstick to my mastecomy'...(I might have screwed up the last title, I only recently put it on the computer waiting list at my library)

...any other books out there for high risk/preventative women and also mastectomy base books anyone might recommend?

also looking for a book to help with explaining to young children if you have any ideas/opinions, I'd appreciate them!

    ~be well

BTW Suzanne, I just loved your book...fabulous job done by Dina. She captured all of you magnificantly. Along with Previvors, is another excellent "must read" book called Positive Results by Joi Morris and Dr. Ora Gordon that was released earlier. Highly recommended for all high risk women too.

I am almost done reading the book Previvors and I have to say thank goodness theres a book like this. Finally! I'm not the most medical savvy person but I have to say it was written in a way that I totally understood. Some of those other books out there are too technical for me. The stories meant a lot to me and I really related to Madey and Lisa because they didn't test positive for BRCA. I learned so much. The website is www.previvors.com.

    Bless you all!

Thank you all so much. "Previvors" was a way of paying it forward for us... so many were there to help us throughout our journeys, we just felt like at that time there was no book out there to let us know what our options were, in not-too-technical language.
