This site is soooo slow!

Is anyone else having to wait forever when clicking on an active topic or when posting a reply? I initially thought it was my computer, but I don't have this problem anywhere but here. An example is clicking on active topic, letting the dogs out, moving the clothes from the washer to the dryer, letting the dogs in, and still no connection! Grrrr!

Yes!! I have trouble even getting on the site, sometimes. Going from topic to topic is slow, too. It's frustrating.

Yes, I had them do a remote overhaul recently to my computer to see if I had to much junk making it so slow. It seemed to do better for a few days and now I am back to "baking cakes" while waiting for that blasted circle to stop turning and let me open a site or send a reply. Maybe this forum is just loaded down with too much stuff and is the cause of our problems. I guess we may have to get the mods to delete all the forums we don't like. Wink

Since the slowness seems random, I wonder if it occurs when several people are posting on different threads at the same time?

(I'm technologically challenged, so if that idea seems really stupid, forgive me!!)

The seemingly random slowness drives me batty. It does not appear to be server overload which could happen at 5-7 EST and everyone gets home from work. I have had it happen at 3 in the morning.

Same here. Glad to know it's not my computer. Hopefully someone from BCO can clue us in to what's going on, as it's been especially bad lately. The worst is when you type something and, poof, it disappears before the preview or submit process is complete.

Me too. I knew it wasn't my computer because when things start to stall on this site, I'll often open up another internet window and do other things while BC.org is thinking about whether or not it wants to open a post. The problem is most frustrating when posting a reply because you never know if the reply is going to go through or not.

YES! Sometimes I think it has to do with how many are on the site at once.

They might need to add more bandwidth. But that takes $$$. At least, this is what I've been told could be causing the problem.

I posted this same topic months ago and yeeessss, it's still as slow as a snail.

Sometimes I get so frustrated either trying to log on, or waiting for a thread to open that I give up and come back later only to find the same thing happening again. Grrrrr!

I don't think it's the traffic. I live in the other side of the planet and am 12 hours ahead of those in the U.S. so most people should be asleep when I come. But this site has been waaaaaaay too slow for me to the point where I'd give up and leave. It's been quite a while and I can't even remember when the slowness started. I guess it's plain server issue.

"random slowness" is a good term for it..... you can be going along fine and then suddenly it just drags.....or it can take forever to get in, and then you are fine. Hopefully the moderators will have some insight!

I've been having response time problems on the site for at least a week (maybe two weeks?). Hopefully the good folks at BCO can figure it out - this site is wonderful and I appreciate the free services, so don't want to sound like I'm complaining, but it has gotten painfully slow.
