WOO HOO Sue!  Now, if we can only get everyone feeling well and done with the Herceptin!!

Linda:  still waiting to hear how the PT went.  I hope it wasn't too painful.

I'm off on my annual Sister Weekend, starting today when one sis flies in.  We meet the other two this afternoon and stay in a hotel for a weekend of shopping, eating, and acting like teenagers. Will be a much happier time than last year when I was recovering from my lumpectomy 8 days earlier.

    Happy Thursday!!!  Nette  :)

Nette: that does sound like fun, have a wonderful time.

Alicia; are your boobs changing as you lose weight? Just curious.

I'm getting the herp today (I know that sounds bad but it makes me laugh). I am not worried about the poke, I am worried about the weigh-in. My eating has gone to hell, and yesterday I found Butterfinger candy bars for 29 cents. So I bought half a dozen.

    Have a good one!

Melinds, you should never pass up a good sale on chocolate....God would be sad.

Nette, have a great time.  My girlfriend and I did that not long ago.  Had a blast.

Sorry I haven't posted lately! I've been swamped at work, and my arm is still killing me! PT is going good, I guess. My onc wants to send me to a neurologist, the PT wants to change my meds, and I'm stuck in limbo. I'm having a hard time sleeping because of the pain. My hand keeps falling asleep now, plus I can't raise my arm above my head anymore, let alone straighten it out.

But, I AM STILL CANCER CLEAR...NED!!!! Scans show the spot on my liver is healed up...just scar tissue! Life is good!

Nette: Did you have fun? It sounds very nice!!

I had my naked Herp yesterday. The plan is to keep me on it another year, just for security. Oh well. I'd rather be port poked than spastic due to the roids & chemo!

I've been looking for the BC Awareness movies on Lifetime and can't find them. Hmmmmm????

Linda: Wooo Hooo for the clean scan, that is wonderful. I am sorry about the arm, isn't there a nerve conduction test they can do? That is great that they will keep you on the herp for an extra year. I assume they do the cardio studies to make sure you ticker is holding up well?

I have Comcast and the movies are in the On Demand menu.

Michele: You made me smile, I am glad I made God happy.

Had my herp today and tonight I am having a lot of hot flashy things. I should pay attention and see if it worse on herp day.

I'll have an echo in the next couple of weeks and I will scan in November. They also gave me a flu shot at the Oncs.

I think I will finish these 29 cent Butterfingers and then try and get some weight off. It is slowly creeping up, I have gained 20 pounds since diagnoses.

Melinda.....  I think a more fruitful study would be the degree to which hot sex relieves hot flashes.

I was a bit tired from the flu shot, so don't be surprised if you are dragging. - Claire

I think there is a direct link from hot sex to weight loss....either way Melinda has it covered...LOL

Did someone say Butterfingers???? LOL  And yes I agree with Michele, you cannot pass up a good sale on chocolate.  I specifically don't buy my Halloween candy till the day before as I will eat it !!!!!!  And then I buy stuff I don't like.  Which means no Snickers or Peanut butter cups.

Claire ~ I was tired from the flu shot but feel fine now, had it on Monday!

Linda ~ GREAT news on the NED.  But sorry about the arm.  Hope it gets better real soon.

Melinda ~ Hope those hot flashes get better.  Since I finally got my period last month no hot flashes really to speak of.  Just an occasional hot flush ~  not a real full on BLAST.  Regarding the boobie ?  or foobies ~ my left one has less tissue under the skin for some reason so I have some rippling there and with the weight loss it is definately worse.  Hoping when I get the new set in December it will be a bit better.  I tell you now that I have implants I don't know why anyone would ever GET these just because they want bigger boobs.  They are so foreign feeling.

Michele ~ what's new, how's the hair growing.  I can't wait till my side burns grow and I can have it one length, this whole 80's bi-level hair is bothering me..........  and my ends are so frizzly like Albert Einstein.  I had perfectly smooth hair prior to bc.  Oh well...

Have a good day girlies !

    :)

Hi girls, been busy working and going on with life. I still have herceptin every 3 weeks but my last one is 12/10 and I cant wait. Every 3 weeks I go it just brings back all the emotions from the smells and overheard conversations and then a night of hot flashes and diarrhea. Glad to read everyone is doing good. Alicia: I think you will like the silicone better not so hard and foreign.  I sometimes forget mine are fake..but i do love the freedom of not wearing bras all the time. Melinda: Good to hear your getting back into the dating scene and moving forward. I dont think I will ever stop reading all the posts here love to read how everyone is doing. Did any of you plan to ever go to the Vegas reunion?

Mouse: Good to hear from you, glad your herps are coming to an end. I was also glad to see you mention about the hot flashes, mine are real bad on herp day and I was just starting to make the connection (I know, I am pretty slow).

Wow.  A whole year since this thread started.  Brenda, I do hope you are aware of the impact this thread has had on everyone and what a great thing it was that you started it.  I honestly and truly don't know what I would have done without you, guys.   I can never thank you enough for the encouragement, the laughs, the {{hugs}}, the information imparted, the wackiness, the whole cyber connection of "you're not alone in this."

Some days while I'm doing something or going through some action, I will have a flashback to what I was doing that time last year, or what was happening to me at that time and I get a sick feeling in my stomach.  Then I just try to think of where I am now and that that was in the past, not the present.  We've all come so far.   Thank you, my Warrior friends.

A happy, happy Tuesday to you.  Nette  :)

Nette, I really never thought about the impact. I'm just happy do have had a part in this. It was truley all of you that helped me through all my insecurites each step of the way, together like sisters. The comfort I found in each of you, as well as all the reassuring made me believe in myself and the Lord Sweet Jesus. I couldn't have said it better than what you did Nette. I do give thanks everyday that as you said that WAS the past. The PRESENT is looking wonderful.

To all my cyber sisters, I love each of you ((((((((((GROUP HUG)))))))))

Ladies,  I just stopped by to see how everyone is doing..so much good news lately!!  Sending {{{BIG HUGS}}}}} to all.  It's hard to believe that it was just a year ago that we all met - damn, what a year it's been!

I had my first real mammo since diagnosis last week....thank god still NED :-)!  The radiologist who read the results says I don't need to come back for a year...of course, my onc and rads onc may differ on that, but still, the thought of going a whole year is exciting and scary, at the same time.

I'm hanging in on Tamoxifen, just the occasional hot flash, leg cramp and muscle ache, nothing major.  Have somehow managed to lose almost 20 lbs, but don't tell anyone about the Oreo I just scarfed down! My onc is big on 'no sugar', but really? I consider chocolate to be therapy. What fun is life without an occasional Oreo....!

Is anyone else feeling a little overwhelmed having a "cancerversary" at the same time as Breast Cancer Awareness month?   I almost teared up at the grocery the other day...something about seeing pink cases of soda and bags of chips was just overwhelming.  I appreciate the effort, but sometimes you just wanna get away from all that pink!

Sending out my love to all -- I read here all the time, but really need to get off my rear and post more often. Take care, stay healthy....

Good to hear from you (((((Pam))))).

I'm glad to hear your delaing with the T-Mox fairly well. At first (month one) I didn't think I'd ever be able to handle the flashes and cramps in my legs and back, but I'm much better now and I don't mind so much. Good Lordy the pills I take!!!!

I don't mind the pink really, but I sure don't need a reminder. I want a beautiful large pink stone in a ring for Christmas. It's on my wish list. Other than that I'm just celebrating life~~~~

    How's the hair coming?

<<<Group Hug>>> Hello my sisters! Happy Anniversary :)

I'm on a high because of a HUGE presentation at work that went awesomely! Today has been a good day.

Still chugging along with my bum arm...LOL. I had an appt yesterday with a neurologist that got cancelled. Now I can't get in until Nov 11. UGH!! So I'm doing my Herceptin/Zometa/Tamoxifen train. Woo Hoo...

Words cannot express my appreciation to you girls! Thank you Brenda for starting this thread. I love you all!

My thoughts are much more around "I'm so thrilled to be facing my current problem set as opposed to what I was facing a year ago".

We must have the same oncology team regarding sweets.  I have a recommendation to eat popcorn instead of sweets.  Not in this lifetime!!!  Fortunately, my study nurse gets it and thinks "moose munch" might do it.  My thoughts go to the good French or Norwegian bakeries here.

Hair is frustrating...just so slow.  Fortunately, there is hair color which helps with texture and shine as opposed to just color.

Major congrats on the 20 lb Pam.  I have been out cycling to keep off the 20 lb I lost with active treatment.  I still need to come down about another 8.

As for "pink", rose champagne is something in that color I am always happy to have.  But that will wait until I either get the additional client I need or land a FT gig.

Which is what I am focusing on at the moment.....relaunching the next phase of my life.

Michele:  I can't see your avatar very well...what is it a picture of?

Pam Pam Pam!!!   So good to hear from you!!!  Melinda and I (and I think Alicia, too) agree that we're so over the pink-thing.  Maybe some years from now it will look better, but not now.  Oh, but I would definitely make an exception for a ring with a huge pink stone!!!  :)

My breast surgeon said if the calcifications detected on my first post-bc mammo haven't changed in my Dec. mammo, I won't have to come back for a year, either, but I think I'm going to ask for a 6-month one:  Am too worried something will come up if I wait too long.  My original tumor grew very quickly and would have been huge, had I not gotten my annual mammo when I did.  I did not feel it in a June self-exam, but by the end of July, it was the size of an almond.   Don't even want to think of how large it would have been had I put off getting that mammo.

uhhhh, Alicia, congrats on the 2nd period?  :)

I'm all for chocolate therapy!!!  And my onc hasn't said anything about sweets, nor would I ask her.

Had my annual Sister Weekend this past weekend.  Had a ton of fun with my 3 sisters.  Didn't want it to come to an end, as we all act like teenagers on an extended sleep-over:  we eat, laugh a lot, and shop, though we didn't make our record of 11 hrs. of shopping.  Only made it to 10 hrs. this time.  (We stay at a hotel near a huge enclosed outlet mall.)  We definitely did our part to help the economy.  A true sacrifice.

    Have a great evening!  Nette : )
