I went to the oncologist yesterday and had him feel a lump at the end of my scar from my port. He said it could be scar tissue around a stitch, but I thought why now 2 years after the port was out? Anyway first thing this morning the surgeon's office called and I am to see her 24 hours, exactly, after I left his office. The other time I went for a consult she did the biopsy at that appt.

I am glad there is such a short wait but, it makes me think the oncologist was more concerned than he let on.

I know I'm jumping to conclusions but I am sitting at work getting nothing done because I don't want to take this ride again. I am apparently the queen of side effects and am making myself crazy with what ifs. any words of sanity out there?.

Hi Rosemary! At least it's a short wait. But I know how you feel!! Seems like we live in fear after being diagnosed. It's probably nothing to worry about, but it's good you have a doctor that's being cautious. Sure hope everything turns out ok for you!!!

Sending you big hugs.......I can feel your fear. Hang in there though. I'm sure you'll be just fine!:)

I had a bump at my mast scar looked at very quickly too.  My surgeon wasn't concerned about it but he  didn't want me to be worrying about it after all I had already been through.  So, don't panic yet.

Thank you. One of the things I love about my onc is that he is thorough. Thank goodness it is happening so quickly.

Whew, it was a stitch. The surgeon sent it to pathology just in case but she could see the suture in what she took out. I really feel like a baby and want trust my body again!

Hooray!  Good news Rosemary.  I know how you feel... don't feel like a baby.  Our bodies tried to betray us with cancer, so we have to be on the defense all the time and fight any bump, lump, bruise, etc.  Early detection is so critical.  You did the right thing and so did your doctors!
