My last day, Friday of the scans was LONG, and the worst was the injections, because they couldn't find my small little veins.  Now the waiting game.  The weekend went by fast because I busied myself with fall decorating around the house, and Sunday spent the day at my DD's house to celebrate my anniversary to DH. 38 years.  So today is Monday and I have an appt with onc tomorrow at 2:00.  I really wish I could call them today to find out if my scans are clear, but these docs  make their money with office visits, and if they found anything, I don't want to hear it on the phone.  I was thinking of calling today to see if they were clear and maybe they'd just tell me that.

Barb...fingers, toes and anything else I can cross that the results are unremarkable...just the old disc issues flaring up.  I have pretty severe degenerative disc disease (S1, L5 and L4) and it gets to the point where I can't move and the bone mets is just above it (L3 and sprinkles on up ) - the pain is very different - the meds take the bone mets pain away but do nothing for the disc issues.  Good luck tomorrow!  Hugs...LowRider

I saw my onc today and he told me all the scans showed that there is no cancer.  Such a relief.  He said he saw that worried look on my face 2 weeks ago and he takes each of his cancer patients seriously and so now we know my pain is being caused by other treatable issues from the Arimidex, degenerative disk issues, and an unremarkable cysts on my right facet joint, and also mentioned was welling and edema in the bone marrow on the clavicle, which scared me because  the report mentioned continual follow ups  because they couldn't rule out "early metastases."  My onc does not even feel it's an issue, but it explains the sensitivity around the clavicle area.  He offered to send me to a shoulder doctor because of the shoulder muscle issues but I said no, I don't want to see any doctors right now.  I've had my fill of appts and waiting rooms and prescriptions.  Thank you all wonderful women who've supported me throughout this grueling week.  I love you all!

Have followed this but didn't fell much like writing but was sending prayers. I know how relieved you feel having just been through similar process, not that I had as many scans etc as you. Doctors here are very conservative about such things. And I know what you mean about not seeing other drs next week I have to see gastro doc and rheumatoid arthritis doc - I am tired of appointments. Its a problem getting older.

One positive is that they now have baseline scans.   They were quite relieved at one of my scans to find out that I have had a hemangioma in the liver which showedin earlier scans so theydid not need to worry about it.

Well done to reach 38 years - same as us, doesn't seem that long though.

    Hi Barb,

Am THRILLED for you.  Well, not thrilled that you are hurting, but all of this stuff is treatable.  I have had two very sore shoulders in the past three years. Both injuries I got skiing (one a fall in the parking lot).  They caused major pain.  Mine healed on their own.

Probably Armimdex aggravates some existing stuff, but wouldn't be surprised if everything feels a lot better now that you know it is no more than annoying.  Pain has a habit of being magnified when you are petrified.

Hope you are doing something super-great to celebrate. - Claire
