I think you should definitely see a breast cancer specialist. They may feel a biopsy is a good idea. Not every breast cancer shows up on a mammogram or even ultrasound -- mine didn't, and I was told that among the reasons it didn't show up was because it was in the nipple/areola complex "which is hard to visualize on mammogram or ultrasound."
It sounds like you're saying they don't know where to biopsy -- have you had an ultrasound? It's not foolproof, but it may show something to biopsy.
They say in women 80% of biopsies are benign, and I imagine that may be true for men too -- but I think it's better to know you're one of the 80% benign than to wonder, worry, and wait.

I agree with AnnNYC, have further testing. It probrably is nothing serious, but for your own peace of mind, get another opinion!

PressBoss, it you have any family history, with those symptoms, you should get an ultrasound and then see a breast surgeon, just in case. I agree with MCHTO, get a second opinion.

Presboss ~ I do not believe in the wait & see approach. If a doctor can't i.d. the problem for you, find someone who can. Hopefully, it's not breast cancer, but you need a definitive dx.
If you're wondering where to go, I'd suggest an NCI-designated cancer center. Here's a list, which includes a couple in the Chicago area: http://cancercenters.cancer.gov/cancer_centers/map-cancer-centers.html
These facilities see the most breast cancer, so would logicially see the most male breast cancer. They will know which of their associates within the field are the top experts on this, either to send you to, or to consult, if necessary.
Good luck, and I pray it's something other than breast cancer, but absolutely follow your gut instinct and find a specialist who can tell you what it is. Deanna

I would definitely get it checked while you're in Chicago. A bloody nipple discharge in a man requires a thorough work-up. And Deanna's suggestion to go to an NCI-designated center is a good one. Northwestern and the University of Chicago are both excellent. Here are the links for their breast cancer programs:

Hi friends,
I agree with AnnNYC.
Here are a few details about breast cancer- Male:
A risk proof is anything that boosts a person's probability of developing cancer. Although risk factors can take the reins cancer, most do not straightly cause cancer. Some people with a number of risk factors never expand cancer, while others with no identified risk factors do. In any event, knowledgeable your risk factors and talking them to your doctor can assist you create more informed life and health care choices.
