Dietary restrictions durings rads?

Options

I just started on rads this past Thursday and am wondering if I should be following a restricted diet similar to chemo where they advise you to stay away from fresh fruits and vegetables.  A friend of mine was advised by her doc to only eat cooked vegetables during radiation but I haven't found any other information regarding this.  Obviously I won't be out eating sushi or raw oysters right now but what about salads?  Also is there any information on yogurt since it has live cultures?  I really want to lose some of the weight I put on during chemo and salads are always the best way for me to do so.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or information.

I just finished rads and nothing was said to me about avoiding any foods.  I have heard to eat lots of protein which helps keep energy levels up.

    Good luck!

Same here - nothing was ever said to me about dietary restrictions although I probably wouldn't have listened anyways.

However, foods that provide your body energy would be most helpful because radiation does give you fatigue that gets worse as times goes on.

I was weighed weekly during radiation because they are really careful about people gaining too much weight or losing too much in a 6 week period.  When they tattoo you for rads, they put those tattoos in the optimum place and weight gain as we all know or even drastic weight loss makes our boobs either shrink or get bigger and that would affect the radiation areas.
