Keeping Bras and Prostheses in place

Options

I am one who had a single masectomey and no recon.  I was constantly having to pull my bra and prosthetic back in place and when in public that's not always an easy thing to do.

Getting tired of this I decided that something needed to be designed to solve this problem.

What I did was go to my local Joannes fabric store, bought 4 clips (the kind that can grip fabric between it's teeth when closed) about a foot of nontwisting elastic, which I cut in half,  attached a clip to each end of the elastic pieces, clip one end to the bra and the other to the top of your pants at the waistband.  I use 2 of them so it doesn't slide side ways.  Of course, if you want to tuck your shirt in you would have to clip to your undies.  I haven't tried doing that as I always wear my shirts out.

PM me if you have any ??'s

Can you post a picture?  I'm having a hard time picturing this.

Laurie, I'm confused too.  Is this what you meant to say?:  "...clip one end to the bra and the other to the bottom of your bra."

Seems like clipping one end to the bottom of the bra and the other end to the waistband on slacks or a skirt would work.  (I can't visualize how it would work to clip both ends to the bra.)

BTW, I also had a single mast (left side) with no recon.  My mast side is perfectly flat and smooth, but I don't seem to have a problem with my bra and foob moving around.  I don't wear a mast bra, though, or a silicone prosthesis.  My "foob" is a nylon/cotton cover for a breast form, with a slit in the back that I use to stuff it with just the right amount of fiberfill.  It's a perfect match to my right side in size, shape, and squishiness.  Also, I can slip it into the regular cup of a stretchy, cotton "sports bra" I found at K-Mart for $9.00 and it doesn't move at all.

This strategy probably wouldn't work for a woman who was well-endowed; but it works great for my size 34B/36A "normal" side.  Sometimes if a particular bra has shrunk or I've gained a couple of pounds, I use one of those bra band extender things to give my bra another inch or so of looseness.

I had thought about doing something similar to this. My thoughts where a pair of baby suspenders.

To post a picture, you have to first upload it to a site like photobucket.com

Once upload, you would use one of the codes (sorry I can't every remember which one)  and put it in the box that pops up when you click on that little picture up there by the smile face.
