Surgery options for BRCA1 mutation

I have tested positive for BRCA1 mutation (i am 42) about 8 months ago...my older sister passed away 5 years ago from breast cancer (aged 43), lost my mother to breast cancer 3 years ago, and my oldest sister is now terminal with ovarian cancer....

i have been put on a wait list for a double prophylactic mastectomy with reconstruction surgery for 5 months now, and am currently told that this make take up to another 12 months.

I am in Ontario.  Are there other options to speed up the wait times that one may pursue...
