I never pack until about 1 hour before I leave for the airport. I have traveled so much all of my life that it takes me just 20 minutes to pack a suitcase! However, I tend to forget my toothbrush most of the time! I will be checking in my luggage as I always do since it just seems easier to not have to deal with it while waiting to depart.
Must haves this trip - T-shirt for Linda54 and my compression sleeve and glove. Other than that, it is a roll of the dice of what I am bringing with me - just the bare minimum. I just can't cram the little bit of stuff I bring into a carry on for some reason.
-
Jazzy - New Orleans? What in the heck was I thinking! I better go change my airline reservations right away!
-
Okay guys - quite screwing with the chemo / foggy brainiacs!
-
LOL Journey - used to tell everyone that I had blonde moments - then I was able to switch that to chemo brain which made it sound smarter than I actually am. So I have twice the excuses! Oh wait.....add menopause to that!
-
OKOK...VEGAS OCT 1-4 2010 PLANET HOLLYWOOD....Oh p.s. my secret love will be at PH while we are there.....Wayne Brady!!!! I oppologize right now if I get out of hand if I get the chance to run into him!!! LOVE THAT GUY!!!
-
LOL Jazzy
Jancie -- I have a travel kit that I keep in my suitcase with all the toiletries I ever need for travel. It helps with chemo brain
It's all always packed! Hint: take out your suitcase early -- put toothbrush and other stuff you don't want to forget IN -- you can still pack the rest at the last minute.
-
Lilah - what happened last year is I forgot my toothbrush - no biggie right? Hotels will typically furnish those things to you free of charge if you forget them. I went down to the concierge and asked for a toothbrush. At first they said I needed to go to the "convenience store" located in the casino where they sold all of that kind of stuff and then backed down and said they would deliver one to the room.
Never happened. Brushed my teeth with my fingers...
The last night we were there, I couldn't stand it anymore. Traceyz was heading down to the casino and I gave her a $10 bill and asked for her to get me a toothbrush on the way back upstairs.
What happens? Traceyz buys me a toothbrush and then proceeds to gamble on MY CHANGE and wins $100!!!! (I did get my change back though).
So it is in Traceyz's best interest if I forget to pack my toothbrush again this year!
-
AWESOME!!! Tracey!
You can usually just call housekeeping they will bring one right up.
-
LOL Jancie

Wow ladies - You all have been very busy. I feel bad, I haven't done a thing and I haven't even had a chance to get on-line much to see what's going on. But I got my PM from Janice, so at least I know that I am meeting up for a ride in a limo. This should be fun. Finally putting a face to all the kind sisters that have meant so much to me over the past couple of years. See you all soon! Hugs and thanks. - Jean

Question - how far is the Venetian from the City Center where we are doing our meet and greet? And is there time to change clothes before going to the Venetian? I am only asking because I figured that would be the one dress up night and I just got back from shopping and bought a cute black dress and new shoes. Or are we all going straight from City Center to the Venetian - just trying to figure out what to wear. Unfortunately due to chemo pounds I had to buy an entire wardrobe that will work for only another 1.5 months since I bought shorts/capris, short sleeve tops, etc.
Not sure what my dh is going to say when he sees the bill for that one!
-
Jaz... haha.. haha...haha.. BLECK..... too fun you are.... NOT.
... well... you are kinda funny...
JANCIE....... that is flippin' gross.... no toothbrush for over 24 hours...UGGGGGGG... I am glad I am not sleeping with you..............no dental floss either...EEEKKKKKKKKKK
Boy... I hope all the new ladies coming this year can deal with all this....... lol... just remember.... we are there to celebrate life... OUR LIFE...... I am sure we ALL do not act up in our everyday life.... nope... not us.
JOURNEY is staying in JAZZYS room... I JUST saw this.... ... and Clair and Suzie...
.... Gretch.... you are gonna have the time of your life... HOLD ON!
-
I am sitting here laughing my arse off Laura!!! My dh has been in Vegas all week for work. One of the guys took him down to Freemont Street tonight. He calls me and says "While you are in Vegas you really need to come down here to Freemont Street - it is so much fun!"
Ummmm yah.....we are going Sunday night! We went last year thanks to Laura who got a group together to go down there!!!
I responded back "see if one of the guys there will take you to New York New York to the Piano Bar because if you think that Freemont Street is so much fun - you don't know what fun is until you go to the Piano Bar!
-
Laura - guess you have never really roughed it? Sleeping in caves for weeks at a time, hiking the swiss alps for 8 hours straight before you set up camp at night which does NOT include a tent! We learn how to brush our teeth using our fingers. We also learned some other things but I won't mention it here because I probably would gross you out.
-
Jancie did a good job brushing her teeth with her finger, because I roomed with her and I was not disgusted. LOL
-
Thanks Robin/First Mate for coming to my defense!!! I would like to make a change this year if possible - I want the bed that is closest to the A/C. Last year Traceyz was next to the window unit. I got so hot every night so maybe we can do a switch this time so I can get the air right on top of me! (fingers crossed!).
-
I need flight information from Judy/Facecrafter! I don't know how often she checks the boards so Laura if you have that information can you PM it to me? That way I can monitor her flight status at the airport to see if there are any delays, etc.
