A Quick Poll--Root Canals
I've been reading about meridians and breast cancer. I do happen to have 2 root canals on my 2nd and 3rd to last teeth on my left side. It so happens that I also had my DCIS on that side as well. Just doing a random, non-scientific poll to see how many of you had your cancer pop up on same side as your Root Canal?

Two root canals, left side. Breast cancer, left side. Interesting...
-
Root canals on both sides. My cancer was on the right side.
-
2 root canals on right side, one on left. BC on right side.
-
No root canals pre-BC - right side. 2 root canals, left side, post-BC.
-
Left sided root canal. Left sided BC after. In the same tooth as you. During my initial chemo in 1998, that tooth then got massively infected and had to be pulled
-
Root canal - Left side, had to be redone due to infection and lesions on the bone, finally had it pulled completely after bc dianosis.
BC - Left side.
There's another interesting discussion about this somewhere in the Alternative thread also.
-
Never had a root canal.

I have several root canals on both sides. The first one about 20 years ago on my left side. That's where the 5.5cm tumor was found. I have more recent root canal on the left (about a year ago). They found some 1mm LCIS on that side.
I don't connect the root canals to BC. I would think the left would have popped up over 10 years ago. (BS said it was probably there only 4 years ago since it's so fast growing).
-
root canal on right side, before I got a carcinoma in my left breast
-
Root canal left side - BC left breast.
I read book of famous German doctor( do not remember his name right now), he wrote similar statement in 1950 that BC related to root canals and tonsils

-

Interesting.
Never had a Root Canal.
Im pretty sure my Sister has. She does not have bc. She also has more 'Risk Factor' then me. over weight, Stress, Smoked for many years. I am none of those..
-
I had a root canal done post surgery and pre chemo. Opposite side
3 sisters, none have bc, but all have multiple root canals.
-
Never had a root canal.
Obviously if there is infection anywhere in the body, it should be treated. Where are the facts linking BC to root canals?
-
I had seen this mentioned someplace too...the heck with the cause - find me the cure! Anyway...for the poll:
1 root canal left side upper
2 root canals right side - 1 upper, 1 lower
BC left breast

I went to a whole day dental seminar and one of the doctors said that 95% of breast cancer can be linked to root canals. Westin Price did a study where they took cells from the tooth of a breast cancer patient, put it into a rat and the rat got breast cancer! This doctor said he has examined hundreds of root canals removed from bc patients and they have isolated 4 specific bacteria that they are linking to bacteria. I had a root canal in my 20's, and looking back I remember it was followed by months of a flu like infection.
I asked my regular dentist about this and he blew me off. So I sought out 3 biological dentists and they all said, I needed to get rid of that tooth before it killed me. They are trained to see infection regular dentists do not. I had no pain in this tooth, but took it out and if was full of bacteria. No wonder I have had chronic post nasal drip and stuffy nose for years. Now I am working on getting the metal amalgams out of my mouth. I cannot believe they continue to allow these toxins. It is illegal to sell or use mercury anywhere but in our mouths! Infuriating!

Root canals on both sides and front tooth. Breast cancer on left side.

Hi Vivre, at risk of sounding like a broken record, do you have any scientific research (factual citations) regarding the link between root canals and breast cancer? I'm especially curious to read about 95% of breast cancers being linked to root canals.
All the credible fact-based evidence I can find says the exact opposite. For example, the American Cancer Society says this:
"Available scientific evidence does not support claims that removing healthy teeth or amalgam fillings can prevent cancer or any other disease. The American Dental Association (ADA) has twice declared that the unnecessary removal of silver amalgam is improper and unethical. "

You're quoting the American Dental Association? Those quacks are still pushing fluoride. LOL

I had never heard of this link, or theory, before. I am so dentally challenged in every quadrant of my mouth that, by this theory, I would need a preventative BiMx rather than just a lumpectomy. I know MariannaHB was just taking an informal poll, and that's cool; but like thenewme, I have to ask if there is actual factual evidence somewhere out there?
Vivre posted a link to an article, which claimed that bacteria in the root canal site caused toxins that could travel throughout the body. The article also said that even worse sites for bacteria were the "cavitations" or unhealed sockets of extracted teeth and it claimed that a lot of those site remained unhealed. My first thought about this assertation was, "Well, almost everyone I know has had their wisdom teeth out, so where does that leave all these people?"
I am not trying to be controversial. This started out just like that one post that asked whether right- or left-handeness matched treatment side. There is no harm in it. My mind wonders about stuff like this all the time. At best you will come up with weird co-inky dinks, but nothing that can seriously be thought of as a conclusion.
Now, how many of us are of the astrological sign Cancer? (I'm kidding!)
