I love to tell his golf mates that I do it so they can go home and complain to their wives - they must hate me. I do it mainly because he is SO noisy getting ready I wouldn't stay asleep anyway.

When I was first married I thought it was my "duty" to make him breakfast.  I wanted to be a good little wifey.  So for about a week I got up and made him eggs.  But I was so bitchy that he stopped waking me up.  I would put down his plate then sit with my arms folded and look like a big old crab.  Now he makes me breakfast, how times have changed.

I still cook all of the meals in my house. Once in a while we order in, but I love to cook. The kitchen is where I do my best work...that and the bedroom! Embarassed

I wish my hubby cooked.  I think he cooked me dinner 1 time during chemo ~ I was in heaven...  He can do it, he just doesn't like it I guess.  The kitchen is my friend as well Linda.  I do like to cook ~ but now I am dieting and can't eat what I cook the family.  Soooo not fun :)

    Happy Sunday girls,

    Alicia

Alicia, I did Weight watchers and my family ate more or less what I ate.  I did it because we only had to make small adjustments in our diet.  I uped my vegies and we ate less crap.  That was four years ago and the weight is still off.  I iked it because I didn't have to give up the foods I liked.  If I know I can't have something then i want it more..

I am doing a pretty strict Biggest Loser diet and contest at my gym.  I am familiar with WW.  I am a lifetime member but haven't gone in a few years.  When I am done with this diet for 9 more weeks I will try to go back to some of the WW plan and hope to keep off whatever I lose.  I am having my implants changed on 12/1 so it is motivating me to get to a good weight !

I only do it on weekend golf days when he has to leave really early - wouldn't want him to be too spoilt :)

Good luck with the contest, Alicia!!

Linda:  hang in there and do whatever you have to do to get this shaking taken care of!

Melinda:  I had a pic in my mind of Clyde looking like a port bump.  Guess I had the right idea.   Is he  getting any smaller as the days go by and any less tender?  I'm praying for him to just go away!!

Speaking of fixing DH breakfast...We were living in Germany and had only been married a month or so.  Hubby had to get up at 5:30a.m. to go on a mission.  I had set the alarm for him and got up with him so I could fix him breakfast.  He got dressed, ate, and I was telling him goodbye in the stairwell when he happened to look at the time and it was only 4:30...I had mistakenly set the alarm for 3:30.  He said, "I wondered why I was having so much trouble waking up!"  Needless to say, he hasn't trusted me to set the alarm for him since then, and that was 32 years ago.  I do make him and my son breakfast on the weekend sometimes, though.  :)

    Happy Monday!  Nette

Nette: I've done that before but for me to get up :) My DH doesn't know how to set the alarm and it's on my side of the bed.

Nette: That is a good description, like an extra port bump that stays red. I took the bandage off today, two little stitches...maybe the scars will look like eyes and I can tattoo a smiley face there.

Honestly, now you all have me freaked out about my panty wardrobe. Thongs make no sense to me, I don't get what they are supposed to be doing. Then I wonder what exactly is the function of panties. I don't want "silky" panties because they feel slimy to me. Plus, I want cotton so I can "breathe". And, I have the c-section flap that would hang over bikini panties so I want a big panty to keep that flap tucked in.

Any chance you all could ask your DH's if he really cares about what panties you have on? Is the pretty silky panties for our benefit or theirs. If a new guy gets to "third base" (is that the right base?) would his hand recoil in horror if he felt all American cotton Fruit of the Loom??

    Aaack, the pressure!!!

Guys don't care what the panties look like on us.  They just want them on the floor.  They are happy to be getting any.  I like my big girl panties.  I know everyone says ew to pantie lines.  Myself I think if I cant see your pantie line then there is a chance you are not wearing undies.  Now that is an icky image.  And I will not be borrowing your pants any day soon.

Funny story, when we moved the last time the guy who packed our pantry was not the best speller.  On 28 boxes he wrote the word panty on each and every one.  I am sure the driver of the truck thought we were either perverts or strippers.  I felt the need to explain this to everyone that came into my house.  Ok, so maybe we strip a little, but....

Michele: I like your theory about men's favorite panties are the ones of the floor! 28 boxes of panties!!!

I get a 'word of the day' email from Merriam-Webster, todays word was 'caravansary' and when I first saw it, I thought it was cancerversary. A caravansary is where a caravan meets to rest with an area for all the camels. Maybe this time of year is our caravansary and we are all gathered together, some one humped camels and some two humped camels. I don't guess they make no humped camels so maybe my little metaphor doesn't work. Oh well, we learned a new word of the day!

I had a great birthday yesterday. The kids made me a coupon book with free foot rubs and I get to call them into my room saying "hey girls, come here and look at this" three times without them complaining. I also have a coupon saying they will watch 80's music videos on youtube without griping.

Melinda" HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! You are really close to me - mine is this Friday. Unfortunately, remember, it's the anniversary of when I had my mammogram. I'm going to try not to think about it, but not succeeding so far. I'm going to swap my full and half days at work around so I can go early on Friday. Then DH can take me to lunch - sounds like a good plan.

I have done my first 2 full days in a row at work - I managed just fine. It is easy when I've got lots to keep me busy. I'm going to enjoy today off though. Going to lunch with my bc friend again. Yes we love to do lunch over here :)

It's my cancerversary!! It has been an helluva year!

Sue: Congrats on getting back into the work schedule. Did the steroids do the trick?

Linda: How is physical therapy going? You are on steroids too, aren't you? Feeling any better?

Brenda: are you missing or am I just forgetful? Have you had the scan yet?

Nette, Michele, Alicia: keep on keeping on!

I am going to see my Primary Doc today, haven't seen her since BBC, before breast cancer. I typed up everything that has happened this year, all the docs phone numbers and all my pertinent stats.Hopefully, they will actually look at the paper instead of asking all those damn questions. Ha ha , wishful thinking.

Happy Cancerversary??? I'm not sure what to say...LOL

The physical therapy starts Monday. I finished my pack of Prednisone, but I'm still trembling. The pain in my arm is getting worse too around my elbow. It hurts to stretch my arm out. Hopefully they can give me some relief. Darned radiation. My hand is numb, I ache, and I'm just having a poor me moment!!! I'm ready to feel like Linda again.

Plus I gained two pounds after loosing 5. ARGH!!!!!!

Melinda, Happy Cancerversary.  Does Hallmark have a card for that?

Brenda, Oh Brenda Where are ya?

Alicia, did you say you were getting a reduction in the breast zone?  I think your tatas look tatarific.  Or perhaps mychemo brain has kicked in.

Primary care didn't didn't touch me, I guess she was scared! I told her what meds I needed refills for (asthma, anxiety) she just sent in the scrips, I should have asked for some really good stuff.

I got the impression she doesn't want to deal with me until the cancer business is over.

The kids had their physical today too. My oldest DD passed out after getting her shots and her baby sister cried thinking she was dead. They really do love each other and they can't deny it anymore. They have been so sweet to each other since getting home from the doctors.

When youngest DD was a baby, she was getting shots and her big sissy cried for her and told the nurse to stop hurting her baby sister. Now they are 11 and 13 and still cry when the other is hurt. Unless, of course, they were the ones to inflict the pain on her sister. Ha ha

The steroids did the trick - I recovered.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of my mammo and my birthday. I'm doing a half day at work so DH can take me to lunch (I swapped the days around). I've now done 3 whole days in one week - wow. I noticed how bored I was yesterday at home - looks like I'm back in working mode.

Melinda: fingers crossed for the biopsy results (((((((((HUGS))))))))))).

good luck LInda, bye bye clyde.

Sue, I hope you have a wonderful day...lets turn this day into the best day ever.  You just know your DH will want to celebrate with a round of sex.  That is how my dh wants to celebrate all occasions. Birthdays, good result days, flag day...the list goes on.  I guess I shouldn't complain, at least he still wants to jump my bones.

    Hi Girls,

No I'm not missing in action, just been busy and sometimes I even forget I haven't posted on here because I post on FB too. i haven't even posted much on there lately. Been doing a lot of reading just trying to exercise my pee wee brain, rather than just surfing the computer all day. I was on here last Thursday and told y'all I was having my DEXA Scan. I haven't got the results back from that yet.

Yesterday I went for my yearly PAP and general physical.  Not sure when I'll get those results. A week or so. But all my blood work came back and it was all good, except again it shows my D level is really low!!! Other than that all good!!!~~~~~ Even all my scans if I hadn't already told y'all (I can't remember) where all NEGATIVE. So positively wonderful.

(((((Linda))))) Things will get better, bless your sweet self!!

Melinda, Glad to hear yours where negative (no new whacks) and your daughters will be OK!!!!! `

Sue, The Dr. may put me on the Zometa too, it depends on how my DEXA Scan turns out. No decision will be made until he sees those results first, meanwhile 2,000 Vitamen D.

Nette, Alicia, Michelle, and  Kayh and anyone else I missed ~~~ Your all in my thoughts even when I'm not on board. There are times I just don't know what to say anymore

I wish I was on some steriods again just to have some energy. Being tired now is probably my worst side effect still. My cramps are going away. (Charlie Horses, etc) So, the potassium does seem to be helping. I also found out I was taking my V-D wrong. I was swallowing all 2,00at one time. What a waste, as I found out the body will only accept 600 at a time. So, I need to spread those pills out over the course of the day. That's all the news I have ~~~ ((((HUGS TO ALL))))

Glad you are just busy Brenda~ hoping for good test results.

I, too, read the postings everyday and often read them multiple times a day.  I feel so bad for you, Linda and Melinda, and feel helpless when reading your problems, wishing I could do something to make them go away.

Sue:  HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!  Hope lunch was spectacular!!!  Gift from hubby should  be to not give you that gift.  :)

My primary care doc was super when I went to see her the first time after all the treatments were over.  She asked me some specific questions, but she knew almost everything I had been through already because every time I received any test results, I always requested a copy be sent to her.  My family and I have gone to this dr. for 10 years, so she does pretty much know us.

Happy Friday everyone and have a great weekend!  Will check back for word from you, Melinda.

Nette: That's exactly what I like to not have for my birthday :) Lunch was really yummy, we drank a whole bottle of wine between us - luckily we live very close to the restaurant so can sneak home via back streets.

Melinda: We are all with you in this. Fingers and toes crossed and lots of virtual hugs.
