I have an appointment with my oncologist tomorrrow morning. I want a bone scan and am not sure she will jump all over that request! I have been having back pain and leg pain for months. I did have a stand up mri in January which did not show mets but it was just of my lower spine and not good imaging. I am PRAYING that it was accurate. Does anyone know if leg and foot pain are signs of bone cancer? I am seeing a pain specialist and its just getting worse so I am going to insist on a bone scan which I think is the gold standard for determining progression, right?

Anyway, its scary and nerve racking but I just don't feel good. Its been two years since chemo so I can't blame it on that forever!

Are you on an AI or tamoxifen?

I recently came off hormonals, and my joint pain (including hip, leg, and ankle) all pretty much disappeared. I had had some joint issues before BC, so I had assumed that they were just getting worse, didn't think of hormonal SEs.

    Duh

Sue, I was going to ask the same thing! The foot pain is quite common in those taking AIs. Good luck, Lookingforward, I hope you get some relief from both the pain and the worry.

I would still ask for a bone scan.  You will feel so much better afterward.

Thanks for your supportive replies! I am  having the bone scan on Friday. I am hoping for good news! Its tempting to just live with it but something is going on, now sure if its mets but I need a better quality of life so ruling OUT cancer would be a huge boost towards that goal.
