    Sorry girls, I could not take pictures of the Alpine Garden flowers as it was too cold and cloudy.  But this is what they would have looked like.

    I made it to the top only took me and my DD 7 hours.  YIKES!  That was one way.  Almost missed the Cog Train for the trip down but God was listening to me and they ran a little late.  Cogs last ride is at 4, DD and I got to the top at 4:10, he was listening to my prayers.

    I wore this hat in honor of my bc sistahs.

    I would have cried and passed out. LOL  I could not have made it back down.  The weather was very cold and getting colder and cloudier by the minute.  I had ice on my hat.

    You all fill me with such joy. Can words ever repay the prayers that have surrounded us?

    One of my favorites:

    May the road rise to meet you

    May the wind be always at your back,

    May the run rise warm upon your face,

    The rain fall soft upon your fields and

    until we meet again, may God hold you in the

    hollow of his hand.

    I need a place to talk.

    Really my BC is doing fine and as far as all can tell I shouldn't have any trouble from here on out.
    It's my back that is troubling me. It's been since late June that I've had real trouble and I think DH is at the end of his rope. Yesterday he took me to the hospital. They fixed me up and we went home. All was well and then he just broke down. I hugged him and told him it was no big deal but I think the magnitude of everything he's gone through in the past 2 years just kicked in. Beside my BC and my Mom's BC, he lost his DF while I was doing chemo. I'm sure being at the hospital his Mom passed away at 5 years ago  yesterday didn't help.

    I tried to tell him that he needed to hand over his worries to God. That he was trying to hard and the devil was working on him. I'm not sure if I got through to him or not. We so need to get back to Church but the car ride is very hard with my back messed up. He won't call our paster and he has no family besides the one he has created. His parents are passed and his only sibling is a nut case. I've told him he can speak with my parents but he said no. I guess it's just going to be me. Coming here and reading your words of inspiration and prayers is very helpful to me. I probably shouldn't come on a public board and post these problems but I've grown so very close to so many of you and I won't share it with my family at this point because I don't want to upset him further.

    Thanks for listening.

    Paulding, why don't you call your pastor?  See if you can talk to him, possibly invite he and his wife for dinner, while the ladies are in the kitchen "cleaning up" and visiting, perhaps he could talk to your DH.

    I don't tell DH a lot of what I am going through, because like your DH he has nobody to talk to .  His family has all but disowned him for marrying me.  Because of the economy, he had to start carpooling with his boss (his bosses idea) which made it so he had to leave his weekly early morning Bible study.

     Your back situation sounds extremely painful.  Mine started as bursitis in my left hip, moved to the other and added the lower back.  It has not affected my travel or anything yet..  I can only imagine.  Is there a orthopedist or someone you can go to?  Have they dx'd the condition?  My mother has spinal stenosis and takes injections.

    Please feel free to vent,or talk anytime.  If you'd rather not be as public, PM (Private message) me.

    We will keep your DH and you in prayer.

    PM that is a huge burden (though lovingly) on your shoulders to be the entire world to your DH. Maybe his "break-down" yesterday will allow his feelings to flow now if you think of it like a pimple and it came to a head. I agree with Meece about having your Pastor over to dinner, tell your DH it's for you! He may need some grief counselling. I had some when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer and my DH with 3 brain tumours. It was very powerful. Please let us know when you get your diagnosis!

    PM, I think most of us can relate about our DH's.  My hubby was surrounded by people, but no one really wanted to know how he was doing.  It took a tremendous toll on him.  He was tearful and overly emotional, even watching stupid tv commercials.  Over some very bad events during that time, he sought out EAP and found several people to talk with and it helped.  You may even want to check with your local American Cancer society to see if there is anyone around you guys that may be able to talk with him.  My hubby is my rock, but that rock stood through some of the most intense pressure ever.  Mind you, he had a full knee  replacement in the middle of all of it.  Hugs to you. Mary

    With hugs for (((((Joni)))))

    When the Roll is Caled up Yonder

    When the trumpet of the Lord shall sound, and time shall be no more,
    And the morning breaks, eternal, bright and fair;
    When the saved of earth shall gather over on the other shore,
    And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

    Refrain

    When the roll, is called up yon-der,
    When the roll, is called up yon-der,
    When the roll, is called up yon-der,
    When the roll is called up yonder I'll be there.

    On that bright and cloudless morning when the dead in Christ shall rise,
    And the glory of His resurrection share;
    When His chosen ones shall gather to their home beyond the skies,
    And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

    Refrain

    Let us labor for the Master from the dawn till setting sun,
    Let us talk of all His wondrous love and care;
    Then when all of life is over, and our work on earth is done,
    And the roll is called up yonder, I'll be there.

    Refrain

    I would rather sit in side and watch it snow as I sip warm coffee and snuggle up by a fire.  I don't do cold...well.

    I WILL BUY IT. He has given me a LOT of peaceful moments during the last couple of years with the pcitures you have posted of his. When someone has a gift they shouldn't hide their light under a barrel, but share it.
