New 1.3 cm "mass" in contralateral breast

AARGGH!  I was dx'd in April of 09 with Stage 1, T1b, N0M0, ER/PR- HER2+, IDC.  

Did three rounds of TCH, followed by another 10 months of Herceptin, and got my port out in June.   I had a bilateral mx with reconstruction, and had my original saline implants replaced with gummi bears (which I LOVE).  For a long time, since that second surgery actually, I've had this node in my left breast that I thought was a seam or valve in the implant, and I didn't think anything of it. 

Anywhooo...  Went for my 18 month mammo, my first since diagnosis, and wham, bam, thank you ma'am, I got a call back less than 24 hours later.  Went in for an ultrasound and there's a 13mm lump on top of my implant.  It's my opposite (contralateral) breast.   Turns out, what I thought was a seam or valve was... neither.  Who knows what it is. 

S**T.   I get to go for an MRI next week.  The radiologist (who was totally hot - I was like, "Let me put on my clothes before I talk to you so I can give you a better impression...") was concerned about it.  When I said the lump had been there for months and hadn't changed, he said that was reassuring... But he said he wanted to make sure I wasn't having a recurrence, given my history.   AAAARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!

Going through this whole shebang a second time is somewhat easier, I think.  I'm less hysterical.  But I'm very cranky.  

 Anyone else been here?

    Kaidog ~ Once we've had bc, I just think they tend to be almost overly cautious in checking out any little bump or pain we report.  I'm so sorry you're going through this, but since you say it hasn't changed since you noticed it, I'm praying it's scar tissue or something equally B9!      Deanna

    I'll second that - once you've had the big C doctors jump three feet in the air when you present with just about anything. Which has its upside - you get taken verrrry seriously and you get extra careful care. But the anxiety can be debilitating. Do let us know how you get on. I feel something of a rapport with you as we received the same diagnosis four months apart.  I imagine that the very fetching number 1 crop I see in your picture here has since been replaced by a wild and curly mop, like mine. Let's just say that if it was still the '80's I'd be super trendy! I do hope and pray all is well with you....Lucy (in London) (((((((hug)))))))))
