Kelly..I have no idea what is the right thing, I think Wyoming may understand.   I hope they find the right mix for you.  Sounds like you are enjoying your porch..that is good.

Wyoming...how are you enjoying school now.  My neighbours little guy starts tomorrow into kindergarten and he is so excited..  Hoping you are feeling alright.

HunkyD...is this it for your surgeries....I sure hope so.   Make sure you follow the doctors orders and dont over do it.

Chocolate...I always think about you and I always have you and all my friends here in my prayers.  I seem to be praying more and more all the time.  I find it comforting.  Hoping you are doing well.

LeggyJ...we miss you here,  how is evrything going??

    Bonnie...hope you are well.

We had a weekend of rain whil camping.  We cut it short so we could come home  and dry off.   This weekend coming is the annual family golf tournament. Most of us only golf once a year but it is fun.  It is in memory of my Dad who started this about 20 years ago....so we always have my cousin hit the first ball with my Dads club, since they are both left handed.

"Hoping everyone has a good weekend.   Hugs Karen

Hi everyone. I'm enjoying my students this year. I'm glad that I can still work.

Hunky yes my grandkids like camping. I still love to camp also but I need the comforts. That is why we have a camper. It has a bathroom and a nice bed. The ground and my don't have a good relationship.  Enjoy your time off.

Karen sounds like your golf tournament is a lot of fun. I'm left handed but I golf right handed when I golf which hasn't been for at least two years then I only golfed maybe once a year.

Kelly I hope you are feeling better.

Chocolate I hope you too are feeling better.

Leggy and Bonnie how you doing?

Hi, wanted to wish you all well.  I am returning to work tomorrow on a limited physical basis.  I will just see how it goes.  That reminds me, Leggy, how are you doing?  I am very impressed with all our strength.  I cleaned out a lot of ancient equipment out of my office this weekend.  DH did the heavy lifting and I stripped hard drive and bios out of old desktop puter.  So much out dated stuff it was amazing.  Feels good to have it done.  I still had an old Laser printer that does not work with either laptop without buying parallel to usb adapters and searching for drivers...but I just couldn't get rid of it.  I am a hoarder I guess.  I have a wireless printer and a photo printer but don't really print much anymore.  I imagine my old HP Laser 4L will end up at goodwill shop before the week is over.  I hope you are all doing well.  I am going to take it easy and not worry about work and vacation time.  I just took almost 2 weeks of vacation time for surgery.  CRAZY!   I hope you all had a good weekend and that we can stay in touch.  Hugs to all.....HD

Hi girls, I flew out to New Mexico, and drove out to Santa Fe, last week.  Stayed with an old girlfriend and ate lots of green chile.  Had a good time. Haven't seen my friend in about ten years, so we had lots to catch up on.  Went to the downtown square, and they had a festival going on, really just a lot of jewelry and shirts.  But I bought two long skirts and that's about it.  I got home yesterday, just in time to walk Wolfie, who missed his Mommy.

Tomorrow, I go to the spine clinic, and hope to get some information, on my neck, back, and hip pain.  They have my MRI results, and x-rays of my hip as well(from last year).  I'll let ya'll know when I know.

    Good luck to everyone

Hunky sounds like you did a lot of cleaning out. I have a printer here at school that they don't make any more but they make the ink cartridges. I'm glad because it is a great little printer.

Leggy sounds like your trip was fun. How did your visit at the spine clinic go? Did they give you any good news.?

My cancer markers are going down again. I hope they continue.

Kelly, Karen, Bonnie, Chocolate hope everything is going well. We need to get ready for the dreaded winter. At least I do because in Wyoming it could come any day now or wait until Halloween.

Good news Wyoming!  I am hoping your trts are not causing you a lot of discomfort.  So glad for the markers going down.  Now some good news from Chocolate would be great!  Hope you too Leggy have some good news.  I went to surgeon today and am still on restricted hours at work.  Part time.  Anyway...when my body gets overly tired...I just don't heal as well.  I hope you are feeling better Karen and hope you are well also Bonnie!  Hugs from the HD!

sounds like you had a nice trip Leggy...yes let us know what happens at the spine clinic.

Great news Wyoming, hope they keep going down.

HunkyD..working part time is good, remember to take it slow, as soon as your back fulltime, they figure you are back to norm.

We had a good time at the family golf game. It ended up being a beautiful day.

I saw my doc today and she did send me for a chest x-ray.  We are looking further into bone loss as Arimidex can cause this.  So I have to have another bone density test and then may need medicine to offset  the possibility of osteoporosis.  Also, another blood test to check my liver and cholesterol.  Keeping my fingers crossed about the x-ray.

Kelly, Bonnie, and Chocolate, hope all is well.

Chocolate...hope the rad trts help the tumor pressure.  I am so sorry about the acid reflux too.  I suffer from that myself but I am sure not anywhere near the extent you are.  Good luck with your remaining rads trts and glad you have a brother to help while DH is busy.  Kathy, hope your tests turn out well and glad you had fun on your annual golf outing.  Leggy, I don't know how you can stand waithing for test results so patiently.  I went nuts on my last CT scan and that was only a day and a night.  How is your Pain Management class going?  Wyoming, hope you are doing well....are you and DH watching UW play BSU tonight?  I am sure the game will be on here.  Hope your school year has started out great.  Hiya Bonnie, and Kelly...hope you are well.  Just wanted to check in and send you all some good vibes.....XXOO HD

Chocolate sorry for the acid reflux. I didn't know what heartburn was until  I had chemo. It sucks. Luckily I don't get it now.

Hunky you take it easy! Make sure you rest when you need to. One thing I have learned it that it is OK to rest with out feeling guilty.  My hubby and I started to watch the game but I ended up falling asleep and hubby kept flipping channels.

Karen I'm glad you had a nice day for your golf tournament. Good luck with your bone density test. So far that is one concern I haven't had to deal with.

Leggy too bad about your appointment. It is a bummer when an appointment is canceled. If you are like me I just want to get done.

Everyone have a good week. Thinking of you all.

Chocolate,  so glad to hear from you.  So sorry you are having such discomfort.  I hope you can get some relief.  I hope Diesel is making you laugh.   I have to tell you, our younger dog, Aurora had a wasp stuck in her fur and we saw her running in circles and biting at herself, not knowing this.  By the time I realized the wasp was toast,  it was so funny to watch.

HunkyD...sounds like you are feeling alright.

Wyoming...hope all is well with you.

Wishing all the Junies, a feel good day.

I did the Terry Fox walk today, with hubby and the two dogs.  My friend walks it every year with her daughter and two dogs.  It was a beautiful day and I did think about all of you at some point on the walk.  I did find it empowering to know that I could do this today but kind of sad at the same time.  Again a lady asked why I was wearing the shirt I was, it was sent to me from the Terry fox foundation as a survivor,  so I said because I am a survivor and funny enough a couple of people around me said,  good for you.....I wasnt sure how I felt about that,  glad I am here but at the same time pissed off, that I have this stigma.    anyway, just wanted to share that.    Hugs.....Karen

I am so glad to see everyone's posts.  I also think about you all while I am going through every day.  I went to South Dakota for the weekend to see my brother's new baby and her christening.  We did see the rest of the family but we all "fight" for baby holding time!  This is my mothers 15th grandchild.  Isn't it amazing how perfect all babies are?  And we found out this weekend that the oldest grandchild is pregnant with the first of a new generation.  Very exciting!

Have a great week everyone,  Kelly

Hello Ladies:  I am just resting in bed as I am still on half days at work this week.  I guess I am healing.  Not sure if I just work harder when I do get to work or not.  LOL!  Fall is in the air here.  Still have tomatoes though.  Love the taste of them.  Hope everyone is doing OK.  Karen, I don't even like to hear the word survivor.  Hopefully someday, that term will be valid for those diagnosed with cancer.  You survive an infection, flu, etc.  You live with cancer or you don't, because no one knows if there is one cell of the shit left that will surface in 2 days or 20 years.  I told you I was kind of negative about it all.  I hate that about me, and will try not to say this stuff here again.   I am glad I am here too and glad you had a beautiful walk though.  Ok, I thought about deleting this, but I am not going to and get on to more chearful things.  I have a lovely cup of coffee (latte) that my DH brought me this morning.  The sun is out today and should be a beautiful day.  Leggy, hope the results of your test were OK.  I really hope you all are enjoying things and also think about you and what we have gone through and are going through.  Hugs to all!  HD

    Happy Sat. everyone.

I had my grand kids this morning. What a great way to start the weekend. Looks like a perfect fall weekend here.  We don't get many fall days. We usually go from summer right into winter. Between now and after Easter I will be eating a lot of candy. It is just to easy to pick up something when I'm in the store. I have no will power.

I hope everyone is doing well. Chocolate I hope your throat is getting better. Leggy how was the pain clinic? Hunky have you been taking it easy? Kelly it so hard not "fight" over babies, I hope you got your turn. Karen and Bonnie how have you been feeling?

    Take it easy.

Hi everyone!  Tomorrow is back to work full time.  I think I am going to be a little tired.  We'll see.  My son is on cloud 9.  He shot a 5 point elk on his archery hunt.  He loves the meat and loves to hunt, so I am very happy for him.  I know many don't like to harm animals, and god knows I am a softie about it too.  The elk are more scarce here than ever due to the wolves so I am glad the elk died for a good reason....that reason being my son will not waste any of the meat and is a very happy camper....LOL!  I hope you all are doing well.  Wyoming, please eat my share of the candy as my teeth cannot do sugar anymore.  I pay for it dearly at the dentist, not to mention weight gain.  I am sorry if any of you read my deleted post before I got rid of it.  I can't be spilling my guts like that on a thread where we are all here to support one another and be positive for one another.  My apologies on that one.  Anyway, I have lunch packed for tomorrow...another BLT (bacon, lettuce, TOMATO) sandwich.  My goodness, we have got the tomatoes this year.  I wish I would have had a little more energy to put some up.  Oh well, bless you all and have a good week!  Hunkydory

Hunky you can post what ever you need too. I didn't read your post so no apologies for me. Congrats to your son. Hubby didn't go archery elk hunting this year. He will go deer hunting in Nov. He and our son-in-laws will go then. Also congrats on Boise St beating Oregon St. Hubby watches a lot of college football and that is one game we watched. I wish we had tomatoes but they didn't have a good start and just didn't do well. Eat a sandwich for me. Don't work too hard.

It seems like summer again because the weather is so nice. I've been working in insurance and doctor, hospital bills all afternoon. I hate that job. I to get my port put in this Wed. keep your fingers crossed that all goes well. I miss having it for chemo, My veins in my arm are getting harder and harder to access.

Everyone have a good week, don't work to hard, and enjoy the positives.

Hi Everyone,  Yes I finally got a chance to get back on here.  I spent 2 weeks in Edmonton with my daughter as she has not been feeling well at all. I know I am not a Dr. but I sure think a hysterectomy is coming up for her. She seems to be the right age as in our family I think she is the only person that hasn't had to have one yet.

Hunky just as Wyoming said it doesn't matter what you say on here, everyone understands and no need to apologize. As for the hunting it was nice to get the elk although I have never tasted it. My son in law just got a moose with a bow and arrow, he was ecstatic to say the least and I do know that moose meat is really good.  Not that I will get any as they live to far away.

Chocolate hope you are feeling a little better, eat lots of smooth chocolate as I imagine it could just slide down your throat - no nuts or anything lol. Sorry just trying to make you laugh or even just a little smile.

Wyoming nice to enjoy your grandchildren, you can have the best part of them and when they get cranky just give them back to mom lol. It was nice being in edmonton and getting to see all my grandchildren, they range from 4 months to a 22 yr. old that is engaged and getting married in 2012. That summer will be very busy as I will have a wedding and two grads to go to.

Karen and Kelly hope you two are having good times these days, always thinking about you.

I don't know if I mentioned that I have to have a cat scan in Oct. on my liver as things have been showing a little abnormal, although my doctor seems to think it will be okay I sure hope she is right.

Well good night to all of you and good wishes to everyone

Nice to hear from you Bonnie.  Sounds like you had a really nice time with all your family.  I hope all goes well with the liver scan.

Wyoming, sounds like you are really enjoying school again, I have to admit I am not very tolerant anymore with kids.  I like them in short spurts.   Good luck getting the port in.

HunkyD..I have no idea about hunting, it is something I have never been exposed to.  Good luck at work , don't over do it.

Kelly...good to hear you went to see the new baby in the family.

Well, I had a chest xray, family doc thougt I should.  The doc called and said they need me to do it in 2 weeks to compare them.  I did not understand what they are looking at...I asked if it showed cancer and they said no but they need to compare.  So I will do that and hopefully it is nothing.  I am using a nose spray as my doc thinks my nose is inflamed which might be causing the cough.  So far it seems to be working.

DH and I are heading up north for a nice drive next Saturday, we go to see the change of colour.  If you go on the website for Algonquin Park in Ontario it actually has a chart and it says that next week should be the peak for colour.   I just love doing this, it just feels so good to get out of the car and walk through the leaves.

Thinking about you Chocolate and hoping all is well with you.

Leggy....we miss you ,  I hope everything is okay.

    Hugs,

Nice to hear from you Bonnie. You will have a busy few summers. My DH shot his moose last year. We still have a lot of meat.

Karen good luck with your x-ray. I hope the nose spray works.

I still haven't gotten my port put back in. I'm having trouble with my palettes. They are way to low. My onc is going postpone chemo until I get them up to normal. So hopefully I can get my port in before chemo. I scares me when I don't get my chemo on time as I'm afraid my cancer #'s will go up.

It is summer like weather in the 80's. Makes it hard to work.

Hunky how was you first day back? I hope you didn't over do it.

    Happy Tuesday everyone

Hi all, I have been avoiding the boards this week.  First I had a huge fight with my husband which was totally my fault and I said some pretty spiteful and mean things.  I know it will blow over but feels yucky for now.  Then my liver function started declining again so I got kicked off the Tykerb and now my tumour markers are rising quickly, doubled from last month.  So overall I feel this sickeneing sense of deja vu.  Not sure if that is the correct spelling.  Anyway it makes me feel like everyday could be one of the few left and I am trying to do everything I can but in one half of my brain is the constant reel of worry.  Blah blah blah and blah...

Ok off to do some research on what I might be able to try next, meet with my oncologist tomorrow, maybe I will get better news then.  Sorry to be debbie-downer today  :(   Kelly

Kelly, you have all the right in the world to be a downer when you feel that way. Don't ever feel you have to apologize for that, we all have those days so just come on here and blow your mind because you know it will probably help you to do that. Sure hope thinks get better for you and your oncologist has better news.  You take care

Well today is proof that I should just wait instead of worrying.  This is actually interesting from a medical standpoint.  My oncologist advises waiting and doing no treatment for now because as we discussed before eventually the chemo stops working and we may be more in need of it in a few months so I am going to continue my break from all cancer meds.

Here is the interesting part, I had progression in 08 while on herceptin and recently had to stop tykerb because of my liver.  My oncologist said today that if I go back on the xeloda in a few months, we can go back to herceptin and it may be effective if combined with a different chemo.  (I first combined it with taxol)  Isn't that interesting?  I was all in a panic because I thought once you could not use herceptin or tykerb you were out of luck unless you got on a new trial.  I know you all know about the worrying and convincing yourself that all is lost...

I was actually so shocked to find out I didn't have to start chemo that I walked right out without getting the chest x-ray he sent me down for... and I only remembered it about ten minutes ago when I cleaned out my purse.  I completely forgot about it for over five hours! An excellent example of chemo brain!   Hopefully everyone else gets better news too and we can all go crazy-happy for a few hours.  That would be a great thing for Breast cancer awareness month instead of all the pink tee shirts    :)    Kelly

Kelly, well that sounds very promising.  Glad you had some good news.

Wyoming hope the port works out for you.

HunkyD   how are you finding work?

Bonnie  when do you go for your scan?

I think it is great we can all come here to vent.  I love checking in to see how everyone is.

Next weekend is our thanksgiving, we are having a dinner on Saturday with my DH family.  We all get along so well that it is enjoyable.   I would like to take a drive up north as well just to see all the colours, still have not done that.    Well, we are starting the biggest loser at work.  We all weigh in and  put in 20 dollars.  The skinny girl at work is keeping track and who ever loses the largest percentage of weight gets all the money.  I sure hope I can stick to a healthy diet,  I like my treats now and then.  I probably could lose 20 pounds now.

Hope everyone has a good week.   Sending out good wishes to Leggy and Chocolate as well.

Weekends pass so fast gals.  I had to make a little trip into PS after work today because of some possible seroma issues.  They got me me in which was great.  So, next Monday I go back and he will decide if I need to have it drained.  Meanwhile.....back on antibiotics.  I don't really feel too bad...still just tired.  I am enjoying our last days of a long summer that we have been blessed with, but it is changing as of this week to fall.  Guess what...I think I am officially sick of fresh tomatoes...LOL!  I won't be in a week.  Karen, good luck with the biggest loser contest.  I am so struggling to lose just a few pounds.  Kelly, I am sure your onc is confident with the wait and watch thing.  Sometimes it isn't worth the worry to worry, if that makes sense.  Easy to say, hard to do.  Seems to bring on uneasy spats with the ones we love also.  Don't worry about any type of board rage here with me!  I went off last week!  Wyoming....you getting the fall chill in the air there too?  Hope your teaching is going well.  I still am so in awe that you are able to do such a tough job!  Bonnie, I know it is always a struggle on the scan waiting.  I hope it is all very well for you.  Good night my friends!  XXOO HD

Change of plans, port has been rescheduled for Thurs. Then I have chemo on Friday and a PET scan on Sat. Busy weekend.

Hunky our weather has been up and down. One day in the 80's and next the lower 70's. Our nights have been chilly. But it has been a great fall. Good luck with the seroma. (I don't really know what that is but guessing a pocket of fluid?)

Karen sound like a good time for family. Good luck with the biggest loser contest. I have a problem with my sweets and this time of year is BAD! Luckily I don't have too much problem with my weight. Chemo keeps it down as I don't eat much on the weekends I have it.

Bonnie good luck with the scan. Don't you hate the waiting?

Kelly, Leggy, and Chocolate I hope everything is going well. We miss you.

Hi all,  I just bought a used elliptical off Craigs list.  I am getting sweaty in the basement.  I can only do three miles so far but I thought it was better than giving up candy so I will see if I can stick with it. Or it may become a clothes hanger like happens to most exercise equipment.

Wyoming, I am sure your port placement will go smoothly. I am so glad to have a port.  I use it when having Muga's too so be sure to ask when ever you have to have something done if they can access your port instead of your arm.  Hopefully the chemo will go smoothly too, is it a new one or one you have had before?

Bonnie, tell us more about how you are please.  Chocolate, where are you?  Hope your puppy is licking you.

Leggy, any news on the work front?  I hope you get to take it easy soon.

Happy fall everyone, I just put a pumpkin out front, tomorrow the scarecrow is coming out!

    Kelly
