I went to the dr. today and he says that my red mark is just inflammtion of the skin.  I still dont feel comfortable with this so am going back to my GP on Monday.  He gave me a cream and told me to use that and that it doesnt look like cancer right now.  What have everyone elses experience been like?

I diagnosed my own IBC.  I had already been dx with IDC in April 2008 and underwent 6 months of chemo.  I was still on Herceptin and in the midst of my 30 radiation treatments when I started having IBC symptoms -- hot, swollen breast, rash, etc.  At first I just assumed it was side effects from radiation because I was so burned and blistered.  Didn't really think much of it but when radiation ended, the burns and blisters went away but not the other symptoms.  The rash progressed.  By this time, I had researched and was suspicious that it might be IBC but all my doctors (medical onc., radiation onc., surgeon) all said it couldn't be after having had all the chemo and the fact that it started while I was still in active treatment with the Herceptin and radiation.  Guess what?  I was right and they were all wrong.  When they finally biopsied it, it was IBC.

Moral of the story -- if you aren't comfortable with what you are being told, continue to pursue.  Good luck.
