elena....I was on Neupegin the beginning of my chemo the it was changed to Neulasta which is the same idea but you only get it once not few times after chemo.

I had severe leg pain which kept me awake.

Ask your DR what to take to help your pain.

I wasn't told about the side effects so I suffered unnecessarily.

    Good Luck.

    Common Side Effects of Neupogen

Neupogen has been studied thoroughly in clinical trials, in which a group of people taking the drug have side effects documented. In these studies, the most common side effects of Neupogen included:
    • Bone pain -- in up to 22 percent of people
    • Nausea -- up to 10 percent
    • Nosebleeds -- up to 9 percent
    • Vomiting -- up to 7 percent
    • High blood pressure (hypertension) -- up to 4 percent

I had a Neulasta shot on Thursday night, and have had mild-moderate skull-type headaches ever since.  I take 2 or 3 ibuprofen every 4 hours or so, and it helps.  I'm used to having headaches - migraines, etc. - but this is a different kind of headache.  Take ibuprofen or whatever you can take for the pain - no need to suffer!  Pain causes stress which effects healing.

I had severe bone pain with neupogen to the point I could not

even raise my head...later I figured out I could do with half

a dose and get the same result of white blood counts, but

    very little pain...

I had terrible pain from it too. Someone on here said Claritan helps. In desperation I tried it and it helped a lot. I don't know why it worked, but it did. It might be worth atry for you.

I too started on the nuelasta first, the pain was so bad i ended up in the emergency room, i thought i was having a heart attack,, also made my blood count go way down so they switched me to the nueprogen shot that was just as bad, it was so painful it made me cry- claritan didnt help nor did tylenol so i was prescribed Darvecet, it was the only one that took my pain away and i didnt feel like i was high from it- you might want to ask your dr for somthing you dont have to have this kind of pain- (((((((hugs)))))))))

Thank you for all the replies...I had the Neulasta while on AC but it didnt bother me. The neupegin may be the culprit and not the Taxol...We do seem to be in the minority with having severe pain..over the counter drugs didnt help...
