Hi all. Need some insight.I did chemo and then Herceptin for 8 months. Stopped 6 wks ago as MUGA went down below 50. I'm currently taking tamoxifen . For the past month, I've been experiencing a stiffness along my neck and soreness along my ribs on the Mx side. I've been chalking it up to a bit of lymphedema, nerve regrowth or hunching my shoulder to compensate for the lost weight of the missing boob. I can't describe what I'm experiencing as pain, and when I touch the areas  they feel like the other side, or maybe slightly "puffy". I'm seeing the onco at the end of the week - just need a bit of reassurance that he won't look at me like a nut case for mentioning this - can't feel any lumps, but scared stiff as he's said to watch for signs of reoccurrence  as I'm at "high risk". Thanks!

hugs.  the fear of recurrence is scary.  It does sounds like you're doing the right things and getting it checked out.  You're also right to suspect other reasons like hunching the shoulder.  Take some comfort that you probably did Herceptin long enough.

I agree with flash and that you are doing the right thing.  fwiw-i talked to my onc because i too was really fearful of reoccurence and she said this is totally normal.  It is SUPER common to be worried and that she was totally used to this with her patients who were at this stage of treatment.

I'm sure it is probably nothing, but going to the Doctor will really put your mind at ease.

    Hang in there.

thanks ever so much for the replies - I guess what freaked me out a bit was the insistence of "high reoccurrence" from the onc. and the BS reinforcing the "checking for anything different" - I've become even more active, watch diet, fish oil, glucosamine etc. etc and, other than a bit frustrated at juggling job obligations, and this, feel as well as a fifty-something with no hormones can :>) Oh, well! Onward ho! Thanks for the support - it means the world to reach out and get a reply from people that understand what this is all about...
