Yeah Harley
Deanna, I think 104 is the highest temp I've been in in my life, neverbeen in 118. OMG, can't imagine
-
Harley, AWESOME!!
Deanna, YUKKY heat but great on the walking and we had the credit card thing happen at a winery last spring but luckily the credit card company was on it right away and notified us!
Spring, that tweet CRACKS me up! I love girls and what goes on in their heads! heehee
We were up to 108 yesterday, finally broke the heat wave today though as it will be upper 90's! YAY. Deanna hope you make it through your HOT summer!
Only been mall walking and the heat has been zapping my energy. Managed to stretch and THAT'S ALL. No strength at all.
Had my onc appt the other day and all WAS GOOD!! next appt. 4 months.
-
Rode the 18 miles on bikes again today! 90 minutes. it was HOT on the ride back! But we survived. Unfortunately, I am eating again all the calories I am burning up, I am sure! Appetite is here!
-
Thought I'd share this link from a friend. Just watching these guys feels like a workout -- my adrenaline's pumping!
-
Deanna, those guys are NUTS! haha maybe they are stuntmen? How do they do that and make it look so easy??!!
Walked yesterday at lunch and then rode my bike last night into town for the last farmer's market, it was 95 deg. I was drenched with sweat (i.e. toxins) when I got home and it felt good!! Spring, keep on pumpin babe!!
-
Deanna, that was a perfect link for this thread. Love it.
Back from a work trip. It was very hard eating decent, we had very little down time. But, got a good yoga work out in every morning. (to say nothing about walking for what felt like miles through airports)
-
Bev, keep it up! Cycling is a blast! And it makes you hungry!

79 degrees with a strong breeze this a.m. Hallelujah!!! Window and doors open, and I walked for the first time in 6 days -- even ran some, it felt so great! 4 miles, and hoping to do some more this evening if it doesn't get too hot.
Hope everyone else is experiencing a similar improvement in temps! Deanna
-
Great on the weather, here too!! Still moving, walking and stretching...let me tell you that flexibility dvd I have now is a lifesaver. If I have hip pain, I do the dvd, and voila all better!! yay!!
Keep moving!!
-
I started working again last week and my energy levels have dropped! I am soo ready for cooler weather so I can walk in the afternoon. I hate doing the treadmill! I at least got to Zumba yesterday, so much fun.
Happy Tuesday everyone.
-
Thanks!!
Glad to see everyone is keeping active. I have been resting up from my fundraiser event. I was so EXHAUSTED, it took me until Tuesday til I was finally starting to feel recharged.
YAHOO! on the cooler temps, and the lower humidity.
I met with the American Cancer Society Reach to Recovery people, in Wilmington today. I am trying to get into their program, as a co-ordinator. I am now volunteering with Myrtle Beach.
Happy TUESDAY, indeed!!
-
Harley that sounds like a great job! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
This working thing is getting in the way of my exercising. I could go after work, but DD has tennis matches all week. By the time I get done with that, I am too hot and tired. Hopefully next week will be better, only 1 tennis match.
-
Thanks, Diane. I think it is a VOLUNTEER position, but it would give me a chance to help others. The Reach program in Myrtle Beach has a co-ordinator, but they don't get many referrals. I think they have become complacent, and the new referals have all dried up.
I hate it when WORK gets in the way of exercise!!
Have a great day!
-
Hi all !!
Back from a great vacation. We cycled a LOT!! I think about 20 miles a day or so. By the end, it was getting easier and easier! My leg muscles feel really strong! I wish I was on vacation all the time! It is so much easier to exercise and live healthy... But we carry on! Right Diane!??
Gentle Yoga last night and more advanced class tonight!
Hope all of you are well.... keep moving!!!
-
Once again, the 10-minute rule got me up and out this a.m., when I so didn't feel like it. 2.3 miles -- nothing remarkable, but I feel better for it.
All that cycling sounds great, Spring! Don't you wish you could do it all the time? Maybe now that you're empty nesters, you can do it more often. D.
-
I feel so bad, cause I haven't been keeping up with my exercise.... I have had this awful headache, and it feels kinda like a sinus problem. I took two sudafed (the OLD kind, with Pseudophedrine in it, that is the only one that really works for me), and it seems to be feeling better. still no exercise for me today.

Didn't make it to the center this week but did make it to yoga today. Center is closed the rest of the week for hurricane. My son is on Hatteras and staying there during the storm. Please pray for his safety. I'll just get more gray hairs.
All of my tests and mammo came back good. I don't go back till January. Need to get some things put up and ready for the the next few days.
-
Yoga 2 days in a row! Tomorrow, I need to hit the gym....
Love the 10 minute rule Deanna!
I had a breast MRI today, just a checkup / scan thing. I hope all is clear...
-
Yay for all the cycling, Bev! Come ride across Wyoming with me next year??
We got out for a gorgeous hike yesterday--about 8 miles. Today it was only 48 when we got up, and didn't get into the 70s at the house. Not to worry, we'll break record highs on Sunday...
Climbed in the gym today, then had my Pilates lesson, and then a wonderful massage. DH even made supper and cleaned the kitchen. What's up with that??
Hope everyone has a safe but active weekend!
Anne

Joy,
I'm praying for your son, and anyone who is with him.
Spring,
I'm praying that you get the 'all clear' from your MRI!
AnneW,
Wow! You sure are keeping active!! Makes me feel so guity for letting my exercise slide recently.
My dh cooks, but I have to clean up afterward. LOL
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Hi all -
Joy - I hope your son does ok and that the storm will blow itself out soon.
I'm still keeping up the Wii - I should be an advertisement for it at this stage. Went to a wedding a few weeks ago - all dressed up etc and nobody recognised me - they were doing double takes when they saw DH and then put two and two together. A lot of the people there had last seen me when I was 90lbs heavier and with long hair. A number of them spoke to DH about my weight loss etc (some were afraid that the weight loss was linked to BC - well I guess it is but in a good way!!). The usual comments about 'a new woman' etc.
Well have a great weekend everyone.
-
Thank you all for the well wishes. I am fine. We just got hit with rain and wind. My son ended up with 8 inches of water in his house. Just glad it is over. I even had to be at work at 7 am so I ended up staying at the Inn and got back to my home this afternoon. No damage. Now for a beautiful long weekend. I'm working but hope everyone has a great holiday.
-
Joy glad that is over!
Anne, wow ride across Wyoming! You are amazing!
Did the weights in the gym and 2 miles on cross trainer Friday. Today a 2 mile walk with DH. Cycling tomorrow I hope, we have to figure out how to cycle at home -- we only do it on vacation! We need to figure out where to go, etc.
Weather here is lovely! Trying not to think about the MRI results, will call Monday... ugh.
-
We found cycling trails near home! There is something here called the "greenway" and it is 21 miles long. It was great! We also tried a state park, but they only had gravel trails (our tires can't do it) and the main park road had too many cars. All together, we cycled for 100 minutes! No idea how many miles that is... A bit more hilly than the beach area of Hilton Head. It was so fun!
-
So glad our NC friends are safe!!!!
I am soooooooooooooo tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiired. I walked 12 yesterday and 10 today. Tomorrow my DH will walk with me for 8, he is a lightweight. With each day I am getting psyched for this 60 mile walk. I just hope I can make it. Mentally I can, feet wise, who knows. Have a great Monday everyone. I am going to bed.
-
cycled yesterday for 60 minutes on the greenway! Also did weight training at the gym. A good weekend for exercise!
Diane, do you need iron or what??? Are you sleeping okay?
-
I am sleeping great, expecially after all that walking. I do need to start taking my vitamins again. I keep forgetting.
Happy Tuesday!
-
off to Maine to have some girlfriend time. I've never been to Maine! See you next week!
-
Have a great time, Spring! Maine sounds wonderful, as does girlfriend time!
Anne ~ Thinking of you when I see those Boulder fires, and hoping you haven't been affected!
Between the severe temps and that issue with our health club membership and identify theft, I hadn't done anything in the way of exercise in a week, and I was beginning to get down on myself for it. But it was considerably cooler this a.m., so I was able to get out and walk 4 miles. We also decided to give our club another credit card number, rather than dump it -- at least until we can pick up another couple of pieces of equipment to set up a better workout area in our home.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. DH & I did some painting, which I guess I should have counted as a workout. I certainly was pooped after it! Deanna

Been MIA....with our company partnering with an east coast national/international company, and all the work that involves AND my DH had another surgery last Friday for drooping eyelids encroaching his field of vision (insurance covered), the Plastic Surgeons ended up not cutting his eyelids at all but did an endoscopic brow lift with endotine procedure (we were not prepared for that!) and he was having a tough time after surgery getting stabilized and was in severe pain. He has 25 staples in his head! YUK...SO that coupled with recovering from shoulder surgery and with work, I have been BUSY! But managing to keep up with my walking, but only one strength workout in 2 weeks! UGH! Acupuncture yesterday though and a Massage for the Cure scheduled for next Tuesday!! YAY!
Ainm - I can just vision all those people doing a double take when they saw you! That's wonderful, you're doing great!!
Love to all! KEEP MOVING!!
