A trip to the ER and a global wedding

The last few days have been crazy! 

Thursday afternoon when I left work I was feeling out of sorts.  I've had a sinus infection and been coughing for over a week.  Already went through 1 Z-pack and was suppose to start the new one that my DH picked up from the pharmacy.  Anyway, I'm feeling spacey -- a little "out of body" -- and leave work about 15 minutes early.  As I'm driving home I'm realizing that whatever is going on just isn't right and I'm going to tell hubby to watch me, that he might need to take me to the ER.  Meantime, as I'm driving I get to coughing a little, then after I'm done I'm feeling like I can't get a good breath.  Now I have thoughts that I have pneumonia and that I need to get to the ER.  Still trying to calm myself and stay focused on the driving (luckily I have light traffic in my commute).  Make it though the second to the last stop sign -- about 4 blocks from home -- and everything starts falling apart.  Eyes start going in and out of focus, some head spinning, scared sh*!tless and pull off to the curb because I feel like I'm going to pass out.  Get out of truck with cell phone in hand and sit down on the curb.  Try to start to dial 911 but can't focus.  Luckily Dad and son come riding by on bikes so he calls for me.  By the time their unloading me at the ER I'm in a full blown panic attack with uncontrollable shaking, numb hands & feet and a terrible warm feeling going across my chest.

Ended up spending Thursday night in the hospital.  Had oodles of blood drawn, head CT, chest X-ray and everything looked good.  ER doc and PCP think it probably had something to do with the packed sinuses and weakened body from chemo.  I'm also suspecting that their might have been a drug interaction which affected me due to my weakened state.  It was a lot of drama but the good part was that everything checked out OK.  I just left with a different antibiotic script and feeling pretty tired these last few days.  Been keeping myself mellow.

Got discharged Friday in time to keep my first HAIR APPOINTMENT!!  My first cut in over a year!  Wow.  That was great except it was kind of hard seeing some of the hair on the floor since it seemed like it was so hard to grow it!

Then comes the global wedding.  My brother got married yesterday (Saturday) to a wonderful lady from Australia.  They've been together for many years so this has been a long time coming.  About mid-August Sylvia's two brothers scheduled some business meeting in the US and added the vacation part in Seattle for this weekend.  Well they had been trying to decide where to get married (here or Australia) so when she knew they were going to be here she threw together a wedding very quickly.  She did a wonderful job -- it was all at their house -- and we had a great time.  But the really neat thing is that the brothers got her parents connected using Skype on the laptop.  So they were there too!  Got to watch the ceremony and then we all had a chance to talk to them and finally meet them.  But the real kicker was when it was time for the family wedding portrait.  My parents and the rest of my family were there, her two brothers and one of her brothers held the laptop with Sylvia's parents on the screen via Skype.  The photographer loved it!  I just hope the picture comes out good.  Technology at it's best!
