ER+/PR-/HER- & Oncotype

I am awaiting my Oncotype results.  2.5cm Tumor with a high Grade 1 (5 points, 6 points goes to Grade 2), no nodes, Progesterone Negative.  Microcalcifications present in both carcinoma and non-neoplastic tissue.

Researching I have found little information on the correlation between PR- and Oncotype scores...but all research indicates that a lower Allred Score for Progesterone (mine was 0) is strongly associated with a higher Oncotype score.

While my nodes are negative I worry about metastasis anyway.  I grew up in the shadow of a nuclear power plant (birth to age 23) and my mother smoked the entire time I grew up (second hand smoke).  I am now 51.  I've had a dry non productive cough for the past 4 months.  Because of this I am leaning toward going through with Chemo no matter what the oncotype score is.  Chances are the oncotype will by high because I am progesterone negative.

Maybe I am overthinking this.  I am nervous and can't stop thinking about it.  In my mind the chemo will kill any cancer cells lurking elsewhere in my body.  I just want to kill all the cancer I can.

I won't get the Oncotype back for another 2 weeks and meet with the oncologists on 9/17.

Anybody else ER+/PR- with a high oncotype?

Hey Pat, I have a similar diagnosis although I am 58, my tumor was 1.8 cm and grade 2. My score was 17 and I chose no chemo. It is something to consider which I did and for me the se's of chemo were not worth it to me.
