The last wineries I visited were on Old Mission and Leelenau about a month ago. Everything I tasted was really good. There's a new winery on Leelenau that I hadn't been to called Circa. Quite a sophisticated atmosphere, nice wine, tuscany feel but very welcoming - they didn't make us feel like "what are these podunk women doing here".
My weekends are filling up but I'm happy to meet everyone if at all possible.

Hi all. Just stopping by for a quick hello. So good to see the pictures, we had so much fun at the Race for the Cure this year. I love the picture of Irene and me!
I just had a positive routine MRI and will be undergoing additional tests on Monday. Hope it is all just nothing...a 10 mm spot on the opposite side. And who wanted to get rid of those MRIs???
Besides that, life is great. Our daughters are both due with boys, one on 12-14 and the other on 12-21. Love being a grandmother. Even if I am too young, ha, ha.
Iris-I figured out my Ipod Touch finally, it is a wonderful little machine.
Suzette-my daughter lives in TC so we frequent the wineries up there. I loved Circa, and bought a nice bottle there. There are so many wineries up there, we marked a map with all of the free ones! Have you tried the cider place? -
Hi Not Me,
I'll be thinking of you on Monday. Congratulations on two grandsons - how fun.
I haven't tried the cider place. Have you? Is it good? There are so many new ones lately.
-
Yes I have tried the cider. I will get the info and send it to you. They are a new operation.
-
Oh Chris............tell me it's not so. I'm so sorry but going to think positive thoughts (in this case I should say 'negative' thoughts).......
Big congratulations on the upcoming Babies!! Going to be a fun Christmas at your house!
Hugs,
Denise.....
-
Chris - no, you don't understand. You guys aren't allowed to even have scares, because no one I know and care about should ever have to worry about this again.
Dammit, now I have to keep my fingers crossed all the way through Monday!
Congratulations on the coming grandsons. They won't do much this year, but next year, they'll open all the presents for everybody, and then play in the boxes.
-
Chris - thinking of you and crossing everything for Monday. Please keep us posted. Love to hear about the grandbabies.
-
Chris - That was a good picture of you and Irene. Keeping you in my thoughts and sending supportative well wishes. Congrats on the upcoming grandsons. You will be one young busy Grandma.......how fun!

I was checking on Chris, also. Hope all is okay, Chris.......let us know when you get a chance.
Also hope all are doing well ............. it seems to be almost tolerable outside, anybody up for a trip to Kensington next month? My 'no' dates for Sept. are the 12th and the 19th.

At this time, I have 4 free weekends in September. So, Neesie, if it's just you and me, maybe we can do something really special, and then gloat about it!
-
Hi Girls,
Another one checking in on Chris. Thinking of you Chris.
My no dates are Sept. 11 & 12. Is the park open after Labor Day?
Hi to Maxmom welcome to the MI thread.

Hi ladies - I'm wondering about Chris too.
I'm free all Sundays in September (except the Labor day Sunday on the 5th)
-
So sorry for MIA, I have had limited computer connection for the past few weeks. Okay, additional tests and consultations. They went back to the MRI done in 2009, and there was the same spot. No one said anything last year. The conclusion is a 6 month follow up. I guess this is the second best outcome, following the first best outcome of "oops, there is nothing there." I guess this never leaves our lives...there is always the burden and thoughts of "what if"? Next MRI will be in Jan or Feb.
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the little bit of our last bit of summer. It has been such an awesome summer! -
Well geez Chris.......I now have a few more gray hairs! We were secretly rounding up a posse to come and find you!
I, too, was hoping for a 'Oops, nothing there'.............like you said..take the second best answer for now.
No, I don't think the fears and such ever leave us......
Hugs,
Denise

Dear Ladies
I would like to intro myself. I live in MI I have been on your site a couple of times in the last two years. I have had breast cancer twice and have had a bilateral mastectomy. I have had reconstruction in New Orleans last year.
I belong to the Gilda's chapter in Royal Oak, MI. We are going to have a seminar on reconstruction. All details have not been worked out but it will be on October 12 approximately from 5 -7. There will be a teleconference with the doctors from NOLA. I am also in the process of talking with Dr. Studinger from Novi to present at this conference about the different options of breast reconstruction. If anyone is interested in being part of this great opportunity or willing to participate in a show and tell - please send me a private post.
As details are firmed up I will keep you posted.
Hugs to all my sisters

Chris - Phew!
I did a 6-month MRI follow-up - it was fine - and I managed to forget for like 5.5 months.
Sassie - nice to meet you - that session sounds interesting.
Sue
-
Chris - Thanks for checking in we were worried about you. Glad they are doing a follow up in 6 months. Did you and DH spend any time at the lighthouses during the summer?
Sassie62 - Kudos to you for helping to get the facts out for breast reconstruction options.
So far the Yogi Bear picnic members are:
Neesie, Sue, Suzette, Wings
Anyone else up for picnic? If not maybe we should just meet somewhere for lunch?
WingGirl
-
Chris - As everyone said - we were very worried about you. If I could have found your number I would have called you and you know how I am about picking up the phone! We will cross everything for your next MRI.
Let's swap phone numbers and addresses offline again. I will respect eveyone's privacy. I'm going to be slow with computer response for a while. I'll explain offline when I get there!
I'll open most weekends even if I only duck out for a short time. My no date is the 1st weekend of October. I'm always open for pie.
Welcome maxmom and sassie. The reconstruction discussion sounds interesting. NOLA is my next choice if or when the beast returns and if I have that option. Royal Oak is a little far for me on a work night. I turn into a pumpkin about 8:00 p.m.

I'm up for the picnic or meeting at a restaurant. My weekends in September are pretty busy until the last weekend. My Sundays are all free as far as I remember.
Welcome Maxmom and Sassie.
Chris, glad everything is ok for now and that they're watching you closely.
I'm off tomorrow for Gaylord. For those of you who've heard of the DALMAC (4-5 day bike ride from Lansing to Mackinac City every Labor day weekend), my hubby and son are riding it and I have to pick them up on Sunday in Mackinac Ctiy. Until Sunday, I'm shopping in Petoskey and wine tasting on Old Mission. Have a great weekend ladies.
-
I would love it if this time it works out and I can join everyone.
-
Well geez........if someone doesn't post, the MI thread will be all the way to the bottom! Hope all are doing well and enjoying the cooler temps!
Bumping the thread up.............take care .. we'll all make it to lunch yet!
Denise
