5 years out

from surgery on Aug. 30th. It's hard to believe it has been 5years already.
I still deal with fatigue daily and have some aches and pains, but overall, life is great! My sweet boy was in the 8th grade when I was diagnosed. Guess what!? He is leaving for college next week!! I made it!! That was a prayer of mine when I was diagnosed. To see my children through their high school years. My dear daughter is a freshman and I still pray nightly to see her through, too.
I couldn't have gotten through this nearly as well without all of you. You were my lifeline when I was scared out of my mind. I always new that coming here was where I could share my fears as I didn't want to burden my family with them. And they were always met with prayers and cyber-hugs.
I pray for us all each night to this day. I am hopeful to be celebrating many more years with ALL of you. Thanks for all you do!
Hugs and Prayers,
Lexi

There is nothing more powerful than a mother's prayer and love for her kids. I am happy for you and your family and I wish you many, many, many more milestones.

Hi Lexi and congrats. I think you and I found this site about the same time. I'm also 5 years out...I guess...according to my surgeon (who I love) I can't celebrate until November, the anniversary of my surgery, since I had neo adjuvant chemo.
Regards to all my stage 3 sisters from years past and those just joining this site. I'm just fine!, as are so many of us. You will be, too.

Gosh, Lexi, it's so good to see you hitting the big 5. You (and so many others) have been here for me since I started on the boards, and I don't know what I would have done without you. I hope you are celebrating BIG.
Love
Bobbie -
Congratulations. That is my same prayer. My child is in second grade though.
-
KittyDog, it will happen. My son was in the 2nd grade when I was dx. He's off to 7th grade and in Jr High.
-
My son is a Freshman in High School and my grand-daughter turned one today. Three years ago I worried I wouldn't be here today. Now I am looking forward to his graduation and her first day of kindergarten. You ladies are such an inspiration! Thanks for being there and giving the rest of us hope!
