Help us honor our angels from BCO
I posted this info in the fundraising thread - but have only had one person respond so far! I thought this was a good idea, but maybe not??? Maybe it will get more "foot traffic" over here...
Harley44 and I are doing the BC walk for Avon in North Carolina...our team name is "breastcancer.org breast buddies" and we'd like to walk in honor of those fabulous women from bco we have lost along the way...Please feel free to request a name be added to our list...mine started with AlaskaDeb, JerseyMaria, HeidiHo and Saint...dlb has added a few on the other thread I posted...I know there are more! The original post is under "Avon Breast Cancer Walk" in the fundraising forum.
Thanks for your suggestions...

Oh, thanks everyone for supplying names for our angels we have lost.
We are putting the names of our breast friends that we are walking in honor of... who are still with us,
and those we are walking in memory of...

There is a thread called "Angels list from the threads" where all our bco.org members who have passed are listed.
Currently, celia088 updates the list each time we lose another member which seems all too often. You can find a pretty complete list on the thread.....thanks for doing this Navy!!

Ruth Evans
Ruth welcomed me here when I joined the boards the first time around (I left for a few years, then returned.)
Ozzie (Marian from the UK). I still miss her posts.
Thank you for walking in honor of all the ladies who are no longer here.

By this time tomorrow, we'll be getting up for the walk. It was heartbreaking to realize that we didn't have enough room on the shirts for all the names on the angels list, although we did get all of the names that were recommened by the ladies here. I hope as we walk through the streets of Wilmington, that the bystanders see all those names and realize this isn't just an annonymous disease. So many mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, best friends are lost each year. I pray, if nothing else monumental happens in my lifetime, that I will at least live long enough for them to find a cure. Too many women lost, too many lives changed forever. I will be thinking of all the wonderful, supportive women on this board who have helped me through treatment, side effects, family losses and otherwise crappy days. Thank you for your part in getting me to today. I have so much love for you all; stay strong, get through it together, continue to lend a helping hand to each new person - until the day comes when there are no new members!
XOXOXO
