Can the breast have more than one cancer type

Hi all,

Just want to know, can the breast have more than one type pf cancer? I know it can be IDC and DCIS together, but what about IBC is it common.

I appreciate if you highlight this, I know each person differs but want to know the likelyhood of it.

    Not sure about IBC, but I had IDC, ILC and tubular (a form of IDC), as well as in situ bc that was "combined ductal & lobular types," probably b'cuz my primary tumor had both IDC and ILC side by side.  Having more than one form is not the most common situation, but it's not that uncommon either.    Deanna

    I just had IDC, but agree with Deanna, it IS possible to have a couple of different types of bc in the one breast.
