ANOTHER biopsy
So I had my annual with my GYN yesterday... ALWAYS a fun time (NOT!) During the exam, she decided she needed to do a uterine biopsy (won't get the results for 2 WHOLE WEEKS!!!!!), ordered a pelvic ultrasound and is sending me for gobs of bloodwork.... She said to me "you have already had one cancer and we certainly hope you don't get another one" - DUH!!!!!!!!!!
I had seriously thought I was ready make my cancer something that happened to me "a long time ago"......................sigh.

Held: Some Docs have no common sense. I often think the GYN should pay me for what he does in that room!! Before BC it was the most expensive 3 minutes I ever paid for.
Well try not to worry too much she is probably just being cautious. I know my GYN plans on doing an US for my next exam since I just started Tamoxifen. I hope it all comes out ok for you...fingers cross...good vibes coming your way!
BTW I love your saying "a good friend..." that reminds me of my partners in crime!! Love it!
Have a good night,
Diane

Well the biopsy results came back "normal". I am still waiting on the blood work results, and I just arrived home from my pelvic ultrasound. The only good thing I can say about that experience is that the tech did not "fetch" the doctor. I have to wait a few days for the results - the tech said the doc would have them tomorrow, but I don't think my doc will be back in the office until Thursday - YIKES!!!! I got so worked up about having this stupid test I have not eaten since lunch yesterday......... ugh. Someone pass me an ativan..........................

Held- Passing small little pill..... Hoist a magherita maybe???

So I called the docs office this morning and told them that the ultrasound tech informed me that they would have the results to them my this morning. The women on the other end of the phone told me two things:
1)My doctor is on vacation this week - UGH
2)It's usually 2 weeks before they get those results!
Are they CRAZY!?!?!?!?!? I can't wait 2 weeks for these results!!!!!!!! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to wait 3 days. Something doesn't make sense! If the radilogist read it yesterday and typed up a report and faxed it to my doctor THIS morning - WHY WHY WHY would I have to wait 2 weeks for the results. WTH!?!?!?!??!?!?!
-
I just had my annual visit with my Gyn and because I had bc my Doctor wanted me to have a pelvic ultrasound. I too am waiting for the u.s. results, of which I'll get next week because my Doctor is also out of the office this week. You'd think that if it's good news, someone would let you know right away so, the worrying can stop! It's just cruel to make us wait!
Good luck Held, I hope you get a no worries result!

The nurse felt sorry for me - she called and told me that the doc would call me with the official results next week but there is nothing "major" to worry about. Translation - there is an abnormality, but it aint cancer......................
-
Held,
Don't panic!!
There are many of us that have every 6 month pelvic/TV US for uterine problems induced by tamoxifen. But no doubt the first one, usually followed by an endometrial bx, is a scary time. The biopsy results usually take 4-6 days (for the official report), but when I have the US, the radiologist always sees me while I'm still on the table to give me the results. If you have your choice of facilities, you might request one that has a radiologist live time to have the results given to you before you leave.
Hoping the nothing "major" is just some endometrial thickening or a b9 fibroid!
