I lost my beautiful Lynne last month....I will keep emotion out of the post.

I have so many of her drugs... from triplicate narcotics, Fenergan, Zofran, to Xeloda (full bottle).  Thousands of dollars worth, I haven't discarded yet.  There has to be something better I could trust then just flushing them.

At church this morning I met with a nun/nurse from Medical Missionaries of Mary.  She was excited to receive everything except the Xeloda.  If someone is on Xeloda and can not afford the medication PM me.

I'm so sorry for your loss.  It can be very difficult to decide what to do with unwanted medications.

Ecologically, its probably not a good idea to dispose of unwanted medications down the toilet.  It gets into the water supply.  While most medications end up getting metabolized and excreted in the urine or feces and they go down the toilet, its best to try to attempt to lessen the burden on our water supply.

Some pharmacies will dispose of unwanted medications for you; some hazardous waste places will often take them too.  Call before you make the trip; sometimes they have restrictions what they will take.

I'm so glad you seem to found a way to 'reuse' her meds!

Paul-  I'm so sorry for your loss.  How good of you to try to help others by donating Lynne's unused medications.  I hope this brings you a little comfort. I'm glad to see you have a church and friends to lean on.
