Low Fat Diet and TN
I have read a vesion of Dietary Fat and Breast Cancer Recurrence from 2005 ASCO meeting. I would like to read the entire acticle but can not seem to find it. Anyway 20-30% fat in a TNs diet seem like the only way to go. Any opionions, this group has probable already discussed this. I am newer to the form. Would love your input. Are you following it, would love more studies you have read good book etc. I am very interested and have been following it since I found out. It seems it would up my no recurrance percentage to about from 88% to 93%.

The low-fat diet study had a small number of trip neg women, so while the results looked extremely promising, more study needs to be done. That said, I really believe there's something in this and have reduced fat from my diet considerably -- I aim for 30 grams a day, but sometimes go a bit over. If nothing else, it's helped me lose my chemo weight -- and lets me know that without a hormone pill, I'm doing all I can to lower risk.

I feel the same way. It can't hurt -- in fact it helps your heart and health in other ways, too. I started the diet even before I started chemo 3 years ago and lost 12 pounds I needed to lose. During chemo I just ate anything I could stand that didn't make my mouth hurt. I've had spells where I haven't followed the diet too well, but for the most part, I have. I aim for between 30 and 35 grams a day I lost another 13 piounds after chemo, but my weight has been stable for over a year now.
