drainage tube removal

I had the tube removed 2 weeks post-op, i was only getting about 30 to 40 cc in a 24 hour period. What i am noticing is that my breast site is larger, collection of fluid. Is this normal? Will it subside on its on,btw i have TE.Is there anything i can do naturally to help relieve some of the fluid.I know the body is supposed to get rid of any excess fluid.I am just overly concerned. Before the tube was removed the doctor thought i had a hematoma or fluid collection on one side, they took me to CT and tried to aspirate but there was no fluid or hematoma noted. My initial surgery date was July 21st,2010.Also one side was collasped more than the other, now since the drain tube is out it it filling out. This is strange and scarey.

psalms91- I would definitely call your dr - if you do have a fluid collection building you want to get on top of it ASAP so you don't get an infection too...
-
I agree with CanDsMom. Go back to your doc now. I had to wait about 4 weeks until I had about 15 ccs of fluid draining before the tubes were taken out. Please call your doctor today if you have not already. Someone should be on call and be able to give you advice on what to do. Its not too early in the day to call someone. That is what the doctor on call is for. Just don't panic. You will be ok.

went to the plastic surgeon, all is well, start my fils on the 17th 2 days before my birthday.

I am glad all is well for you. Did your doctor have to drain anything? Was it just swollen? What a lovely birthday gift! You get new breasts :-) The fills are not that bad, you might be sore for a day after the fill. Not too bad though. Happy birthday to you!

Hello thank you for your post. My drainage tube has been in for three weeks. I was starting to worry that it has been in to long.
-
The doctor did not drain any fluid out, however i am still a bit uncomfortable with the expanders.i am almost afraid to get any fills
-
Don't be afraid of the fills. Its just another needle stick that is over with quickly. I agree, the expanders are not comfortable. Whan you finally get to the size you want to be with the expanders you get to have them out and the implants put in. The implants are much more comfortable, but still take some time to get used to. And you will look so much better with your new breasts! Look forward to that and the fills will be over in no time.

I had tubes in for 4 weeks, 6 days. Finally the surgeon and p.s. spoke and decided the tubes may be causing irritation and more drainage. They took them out 2 weeks ago - no problems. It was the first day I smiled in weeks.
