Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is doing fine and enjoying their Saturday!  Wasn't quite sure where to ask this question so decided on here.  I had my left te replacement surgery on 7/27/10 along with a right side augment to lift o'l saggy (lucky all went well except dang right side is now larger and hoping in time will shrink down to match mast side - oh well - still way better then b4).  Anyway, I want to ride my motorcycle so badly!  Is there anyone out there who rides and did so soon after their surgery?  Called my plastic surgeon's office yesterday to ask if this was possible and the nurse (she didn't say no) said she would have to ask the dr and get back to me, but she hasn't yet.  My concern is will the vibrations affect my stitches or anything else.  My better judgement tells me not to, but ahh I'm just craving it.  Thanks for reading this and any input.  Love and peace to you all.

It's your left side, so you're not shifting gears at least, but the vibration would be a concern - good point. I would worry about strength and holding your arms out (at least you can rest your left one). I, personally, think a week or two more would make you more steady on the bike. There are muscles involved that you may discover when you need to turn or something and feel them being tugged at. Remember, most of the stiches are internal.

    Just my humble opinion, though....

Thanks Barbe for your reply I reallly appreciate it - my common sense totally agrees with you on waiting longer; however, the stupid in me over rode what little smartness I have left (I swear tamoxifen is dumming me out some - well that's my excuse anyway).  Weather here was just too perfect and couldn't stand it any longer.  I just got back from what was supposed to be short ride to what turned into 2 hours (staying on smooth roads is key, you know less bouncing around).  Fortunately, foob and foobet seemed to have survived my addiction - hope I'm not speaking too soon.  If something wrong turns up later (knock on wood) I'll post just for info.  Mahalo

When I used to ride (my own!) I said that it was the closest man could get to flying without wings. Years later I heard that line on Six Feet Under and almost (almost) fell off the couch!
