cancer and hot flashes
I am going through radiation for ILC grade 2, one lymph positive , clear margin, but I been suffering from hot flashes..In April when I diagnosed with cancer I stopped using estrogen and progesteron that I used for almost 9 years...My hot flashes started and its getting worse....I started taking evening primerose oil but its not helping..and I been told that when I start taking estrogen blocker my hot flashes will be worse...What is everybody taking ..Please tell me..

I eliminated all processed sugar (candy, cakes, etc.) from my diet and my hot flashes dramatically reduced. I went from having maybe one hot flash every 20 minutes down to maybe 1 or 2 a day!!

Don't know if I could give up my sugar - but exercise helps, and avoiding large meals with a lot of fat and salt helps me. There's about a week each month when I'm just flashing almost continuously, but other than that, I'm adjusting to no BCP's and taking Tamoxifen...
