I also read the StageIV thread that has a little more information.

I think this is one of the better things we have heard about in years...yes we need treatments but a possible Prevention vaccine! Wow.

So many of us have daughters...

what about a list of who we should/can write to.

I know he was in Washington last week before congress. He wants them to fund the vaccine. I would definitely call your senators and let them know how important this issue is and to fund it. I have also written letters to Oprah, Elizabeth Edwards, Michelle Obama and Teresa Heinz Kerry. I used e-mail to contact the White House, and both my senators. Plus I called both my senators. The reason why I feel so much for this vaccine is because it appears to be for all kinds, er, pr, her2, triple neg.

The hype for funding raising here is that he does not want the drug companies to get their hands on this vaccine, or have to rely on the drug companies for funding, as he has such faith in this vaccine, he is afraid the drug companies will quash the vaccine as it will hinder their sale figures regarding cancer drugs and all they money they produce for the drug companies. I do not know much else other than what I have read here and there on the vaccine and why the push for private monies rathter than having drug companies ride this pony. Makes sense to me.

Hi All,

I am also writing to Dr. Tuohy directly. Breastcancer.org staff (moderators and admin) did NOT ban or delete Dr. Tuohy's or anyone else's posts. This was done by various community members.

We support the research that Dr. Tuohy has spear-headed at the Cleveland Clinic. We have not reported on this, as the vaccine has not yet been approved for humans. If this gets passed, and found effective with humans, we will certainly be on top of this.

Nonetheless, the BC.O community cannot be a place to raise funds for this project, or other similar purposes. If you chose to fund raise for Dr. Tuohy, that is obviously fine, but please do so on another site. You may feel free to discuss this terrific research, and may provide a link to the information off the site. Please do not post that it is for donations, as that is not permitted on the site.
